    Those seem like stiff sentences.

yes, very. And I didn't find the joke I was looking for in your response when I read the story. 20 years for intimidation???

After suoposedly the other people threw a rock at them? Hrm. There may be more to this story, but I doubt it :):

Monday morning, a judge sentenced Torres to 20 years in prison, with 13 to serve. Norton was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with six to serve.

What? If we know that it's only going to be 13, why do we have to call it 20?

    Clickbait headline.

disruption of a black child's birthday party with Confederate flags, racial slurs and armed threats.

about 15 people, several pointing guns,

pointed shotguns at the adults and children

They repeatedly yelled death threats saying they were going to killing all the N----. They said, 'We'll blow the heads off all the little b------ and the little n----- can get one too,'”

Obviously the issue is the flag...

According to the article the two sentenced weren't the ones that pointed firearms.

You are who you run with, and that's especially true in crime. Your buddy brings a gun to the robbery? You're both eating armed robbery. Your buddy kicks the guy and breaks his arm? You're both eating robbery with injury. Your buddy shoots the guy and kills him? You're both eating murder. Once you agree to be a part of that little posse, you're on the hook for what the little posse does.

People who actually shoot people usually get less time. It's idiocy, sure, but geez.

And people who have done a lot less than these two have gotten a lot more time. So, what's your point? The reality is that if you commit a crime and are convicted of that crime you face the ENTIRE RANGE of the possible sentences. They got the higher end of that range. So what? Screw 'em. A lot of idiocy is criminal.

Another point not mentioned in the article is that 4 people were charged. The other two took a plea and got much lighter prison sentences (4 and 2 years). These guys decided to roll the dice and lost. If they wanted a lighter sentence THEY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE DEAL.

Sometimes people get all out of shape about the Confederate flag portion of this case. Forget the flag. At the end of the day, these folks went to an 8 YEAR OLD CHILD'S BIRTHDAY PARTY with loaded weapons, brandished the firearms and THREATENED TO KILL THE PEOPLE THERE. If someone doesn't like the sentence, they can petition the legislature to lower the sentencing maximum for what they were convicted of:
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
    Making Terrorist Threats
Georgia's Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

Seems stiff but they should deff get at least 5 yrs or so. I think even 10 is extreme. People threaten people every day. A lot of threats on the Donald deserving or not LOL. But guns involved deff makes it worse. Maybe 10 is resonable.
