Wow, that's screaming. What barrel length are you running?I've got some 55 and 70 grain that I use in my 6mm creedmoor. The 55 grains are moving at 4100 fps out of my 12 twist barrel with 46.5 grains of powder. It's a laser, but it's kind of heavy to carry with my tripod, heavy scope, caller, etc...
So you are thinking 300 Winchester Magnum, or maybe 338 Lapua Magnum, or possibly a 50BMG?For some reason I have got a hankering to build an SPR. I have a fairly accurate bolt action in 223 that is capable of SPR distances. The only downside, if you would call it that, is the internal magazine is kind of a PITA to load. I also have a 6arc with 24 inch barrel if I want to reach out to 1k+. I am trying to justify the money spent on the components to build this thing. What say yall?
Come on man, what no 416 Barrett? Excuse me while I go take out a second morgage. So you are thinking 300 Winchester Magnum, or maybe 338 Lapua Magnum, or possibly a 50BMG?
If you are going past one kilometer make sure it has enough knock down power for a 800lb Grizzly out past one kilometer

I seen one for sale awhile back IIRC $11,800 + Governors fee.Come on man, what no 416 Barrett? Excuse me while I go take out a second morgage.
Darn nice looking setup. Your concept is exactly what I had in my head.I can’t recommend doing the SPR enough. Built mine several years ago. Whole point was to emulate the Mk12 concept.
My take on the concept was to have a rifle designed to maximize 5.56 range and to deliver more precise fire than a carbine. All while maintaining a rifle capable of shooting on the move and short range engagements . Didn’t want a bench gun. Here’s what I ended up making. View attachment 227750
18 inch Black Hole 1 in 8 stainless Hbar
free float rail wrapped for harmonics
Strike Eagle 1-8
Rifle length fixed ACE skeleton stock
This combination paired with my 5.56 pet loads creates around .8 moa regular. It’s built for speed and precision for silhouette sized targets out to the max effective range of the cartridge. But still light and handy enough to be carried and used for close range shooting as well.
Hornady 75 HPBT sorted
2.240” OAL
23.9 gr Varget
Federal Gold Medal small rifle primers
Hope you enjoy your SPR as much as I have mine. Cheers
