I was just going to say, how about a 6 million dollar, state of the art, firearms range? Iw would get a LOT more use than a cricket field in Indiana.

A non cricket player would be forced to pay for the cricket field. A non shooter would be forced to pay for a range. How is one any more or less socialist than the other?

Shouldn't that 14th amendment cover this sort of fairness, what one group gets, all the others should get too, sort of thing?;)

I would settle for parity. There are bound to be a few more shooters in the Indy metro area than Cricket players. We deserve a state funded Indy Metro Area Shooting Range - 1000 yards or so.

1000 yards? I'm sure that will require some good ole eminent domain. Who cares about the landowners. I gots ta shoot!

He's just trying to compete with Brainard.

On a side note: Indiana public shooting ranges are not funded through general taxation on the public at large.

Yeah and with steel targets too. Plenty of places in the Indy metro area could be bulldozed for an area that size and never be missed.

You'll have plenty of ingoer support.

While we're at it, lets put a $100 million dollar retractable roof on it that will only be open 3 days a year.

You guys are not thinking outside of the box. Think of all the beer and tea tax revenue over a 5 day match! Yes taxes on teas! You think the guy at the colts game is obnoxious after 3 quarters of beer swilling...

Typically, first-class cricket matches are played over three to five days with at least six hours of cricket being played each day. One-day cricket matches last for six hours or more. Cricket therefore has special rules about intervals for lunch, tea and drinks as well as rules about when play starts and ends. These rules are outlined in Laws 15 (Intervals) and 16 (Start of play; cessation of play) in the Laws of cricket. (taken from wiki)

I'm all for promoting sports and recreation but not with my tax dollars. Let me clarify that. I'm OK with our Public school systems and Parks having reasonable facilities. I disagree with building professional sports arenas on the taxpayer's dime.

They can't afford maintenance on the colts stadium and they want another venue for us to maintain?
