    NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT

I bought a 50w fiber laser recently and have been playing around with it. Done a few things, engraved a few pieces and parts. I have to admit, I've been having a blast with this thing!!!

What else would be fun to do???

Isn't 50w big enough to stipple? You could really save alot of guns from over zealous soldering irons.

    That’s seriously awesome.

Do you have to/will you be getting an FFL in order to do work for others?

    Are you taking orders? :)
I've had my FFL since 2011.

If I answered the question about taking orders, I'd be advertising. That is frowned upon if you are not a site sponsor. There are people who pay a lot of money to be sponsors here, and me putting an advertisement out without paying for it would not be fair to them.

I've been wanting one for a while. I want to go higher wattage to cut, along with the engraving.
It's been a while and I can't remember the brand, but I looked at one that was variable watt and did a 3D scan, so the surface could be any shape, and it scans it to adjust the focal point to the surface. It has an open bed also.

    What CAD/CAM are you using?

for a short period of time, I thought about looking into buying one of these to use as a side gig. But I quickly realized that with the steep learning curve, all the business licenses, the air handling modification to my shop space, and not to mention the potential need for FFLs...

I quickly realized that I'd be better off just thinking about it vs. actually doing it. LOL
