Help!

So I bought my Springfield XD .45 about two years ago. I also bought a set of tritium sights with it. So far ive had two shops try and fail to remove the original sights. Applied Ballistics couldnt get them off and recommended Grell's Gunsmithing. I called and left a message there explaining my problem and he called back informing me that he cant get the sights off of springfields.

Does anyone know someone that can do this? I paid $125 for these sights two years ago and they are still in the box.

(im not shipping my only carry gun to springfield armory to have the sights removed)

You need a sight pusher if you want to do it your self. They are not exactly cheap.

I cut my off with a dremel cut-off wheel. Tried a good sight pusher,freezing,heating,hammer blows...nothing would budge those m f'rs. Dremel was so eazy.

You should make sure you have the tools, or someone with the tools to do the sights before you purchase the new ones..

The shop where i bought it told me they could. they were wrong. so was everyone else that thought they had the tools.

another thing to know is some sights are put on with Locktite , so you may need to heat them..

and make sure you push in correct direction.. If the shop tried to remove them & pushed the wrong way, it can mess up the dovetail cut..
