The Hamilton County chapter of ”Moms for Liberty” have gone full retard and made the national news.

First, they decided to quote Adolph Hitler on the front page of their inaugural Newsletter:

Then they tried to “well actually” their way out of it:

After realizing how deeply they had actually stepped in it, they finally issued a sane press release:

    1687516342717.jpeg

Which might be believable if “Moms for Liberty” Twitter account had not tweeted (and deleted) “the 14 words” on the very same day:

What is it with MAGA and white supremacist talking points? Do you want people to associate you with the Nazis? In case you were wondering, this is why you get called Nazis by the rest of the political spectrum.

Personally, I’m glad to see the blowback…I hate Indiana nazis.

Never heard of them. But people all the time mis-name and/or describe stuff to hide their true motivations. A smattering of examples include Patriot Act, “common sense gun measures”, covid vaccines are “safe and effective”, Democrat (party), Republican-party of limited government, build back better…and on and on.

    Judge them by their fruit.

So why would this make national news. Why does it bother you so much? Why does the left get their panties in such a bunch over anything even marginally associated with Nazis, but then behave like actual Nazis over covid, or global warming, or election security, or etc, etc. The hypocrisy is what reveals the virtue signaling for what it is.

This is friggin' ridiculous. To be fair, I've never heard of this group and there maybe evidence to suggest that they are a less than scrupulous group, but this news letter doesn't offer any evidence than a simple hitler quote, which seems to me like a cautionary quote rather than them praising it. The message in the entire news letter is about getting parents more involved in the schools, and even though I would have added context as to why they chose that quote initially because some people in our population don't have the ability to understand context (like saying "this is why we must direct our kids because if left unchecked, someone evil will corrupt them" or something like that).

Political movements have used this tactic throughout history. Say a quote from your adversary to justify you movement, similar to how gun advocacy groups quote dictators talking about gun control to say how bad gun control is. Hitler disarmed a minority population and later killed them. That last line doesn't make me a nazi, it's just a historical fact that I'm quoting to make a point. As @GodFearinGunTotin mentioned earlier, judge a group by their fruits (which for all I know may still be bad), not by a quote taken out of context.

I didn't take it to be a positive quote. In the context, it seemed like a warning. They aren't praising AH.

I don’t think you are wrong…at least, I think you have a valid point about the lack of context making it look worse.

I don’t think it makes sense to bring up Hitler unprompted at all…and certainly not without context…why even risk the association wIth, you know…Hitler.

…and tweeting white nationalist slogans doesn’t really help make their “we totally aren‘t nazi’s“ argument much stronger.

    Irony alert!

You DO know that every time you accuse Trump of 'the big lie' you are quoting the same guy (writing in Mein Kampf), yes?

What is it with Progressives and Nazi talking points? In case you were wondering, covering for yourselves is the genesis of why you feel it necessary to accuse all other parts of the political spectrum of what is transparently in your hearts

It's a quote from Mein Kampf. Hitler believed that the way to ensure loyalty to the Nazi party and it's views was to control education and what kids were exposed to and taught.

That view was endemic in the Nazi party. “Youth belongs to us and we will yield them to no one.” - Goebbels

Poorly executed quote in the newsletter and then the attempt to provide context. Never heard of this group and I'm local their supposed chapter. Maybe they are a bunch of Nazis playing the long game, but I doubt it.

When one has been conditioned to believe the lie that white supremacy is the gravest threat to the country, they will see Nazis, fascists, and white supremacists everywhere.

If you’re waiting for a rational response to this you will be waiting a long time. They will condemn any actions and then commit 10x worse actions and never see it. It’s what they do. Hypocrites are hypocritical

What I find unbelievably irrational about the left's take on fascism, is the marginally accepting to full on love affair they have with socialism\communism. In the last century, communism was responsible for more deaths than the Nazis, by a full order of magnitude. But those killings weren't targeted at a cultural or racial group, so it's ok. :n00b:

Are they against government intrusion in schools, and racial bias brainwashing?
I can get behind that, but not with an us/them group.

It's like I tell my grandchildren when they take the indoctrination questionnaire.
'Are you a victim or an aggressor.'
Don't let them peg you in a hole they choose. Correct answer, 'I am cool.'.
