Normally I would share in your cynicism, however this ideology has its foundations in falsehoods and weakness. If it wasn't for post-modern society propping it up, this movement wouldn't have any teeth to it. As the saying goes, you can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality. Are we at that point? I'm not sure, however I do suspect the society will quickly turn on this crap when things start to get more difficult and actual problems presented by a weakening nation begin to arise.

The corporations who virtue signal this insanity do not genuinely support this stuff. They however, for some reason or another, see this path as a method for furthering their own agendas (likely getting another consumer base or whatever). If there was enough of a financial incentive to reject this stuff, it would be dropped like a hot potato. Like this, I feel many will turn away from this stuff as some of the major issues plaguing our country start to boil to a head.
