Meaning what, it's so common as to be not newsworthy?
It's been common enough for long enough to be the punch line of a joke. Even before the Catholic priest thing really broke open, there was the stereotype of the youth pastor doing inappropriate things with the kids.

"Newsworthy" is determined by the market and the day.

What would happen in a sane world when a 40+ year old man grinds his junk on the face of a 16 year old girl? It certainly not be the cheers that happened at this event.
The event may have been held on a college campus, but all were welcome and children as young as 8 attended. The girl getting the lap dance is a sophmore at a local highschool apparently.

It’s incidents like this that expose the true depravity on accident.

“This isn’t sexual.” And then they get so into the performance that they forget what they said.

I mean, I went to one at a comic convention a month ago. My teens were curious and so we had a talk before. It was advertised as "family friendly". And it was so far as costumes, songs, "gyrations" etc. As far as sexual/suggestive moves it was on par with a college dance/cheer type event. (racy but not lewd)

Though I think they were doing it wrong. One performer was a gay woman performing as.... a woman. Not sure how that qualifies as drag, but whatevs. :):

But then again these were mostly teens and young adults in the audience. It wasnt elementary age kids like some of these things are.

And I suspect what I saw was not the norm, given multiple reports we are seeing.
