Associated Press actually changed their AP Style Book to now advise journalists to avoid the terms “assault rifle” and “assault weapon” and to use the term “semi-automatic rifle” instead.

They have a reason for wanting to do this and it's most certainly not benevolent because they are always trying to come up with a new angle.

At home they need to separated and stored in different, triple locked cases. And when you carry outside the home the revolver needs to be unloaded. The bullet carried in a shirt pocket with 3 buttons ( Called the Barney Carry ).

If they had their way, we would only be allowed to have single shot pistols and rifles like muskets which means you are pretty well screwed if you get attacked by more than one person and even then, a single shot is not guaranteed to stop them.

The whole nonsensical argument that the 2nd amendment only pertains to muskets and single shot black powder pistols and a militia is just that. We can't all walk around with a militia brigade with single shot arms to defend ourselves, so we need particular arms such as a semi-automatic and the ammunition capacity to do it on our own.
