Throughout the campaign Mr. Paul has said his lower vote totals would be countered by his supporters’ enthusiasm, particularly in states that hold caucuses.

    ?

How exactly does that work? We got our ass handed to us, but we were enthusiastic in our loss?

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted,” Mr. Paul said. “Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”

He did encourage his supporters to still turn out and vote.

    From the article linked above...

"In many of those states, the initial caucuses hold a non-binding straw poll and the real delegate selection process to the Tampa convention happens at regional and state meetings. Mr. Paul’s supporters have been more likely to show up at those meetings and win the delegate slots."

    I did read the article.
    Paul gave up the fight.
Learn to live with it. :)

My bad. I've ready a handful of articles on this and got this one confused with another.

This article does not fully quote the announcement from Paul where the campaign clearly states that they will continue working the conventions and acquiring delegates.

For UncleMike it means finally admitting that he never has and never will figure out how to program that darned VCR.

I agree that Obama should go packing, I just don't agree that the Paul Campaign has closed it's doors. He hasn't even ran up Gingrich level debt yet. And if the 2008 cycle is any indicator, didn't Hillary have nearly 20,000,000 in debt before she left Obama as the last man standing. Romney was 45,000,000 in debt before he tipped his hat to McCain.

Luckily for Romney, that money was loans he gave the campaign so he eventually forgave the loans. Hillary still had about 6 mil left after she forgave her personal loans to her campaign.

I am not sure why Congressman Paul would be changing his tactics here since he has been doing so well. I just read a few minutes ago that he is actually maybe possibly could be winning this thing in the delegate count....

Wow. A lot of people apparently eager to swallow their principles so they can vote for the "lesser" of two evils. Even though Romney's record is not a far cry from Obama's. A lot of people EAGER to see the decline of the Republic.

Ron Paul is nothing more than a useful idiot to the re-elect Obama campaign.

I think that more than half of the Paul supporters on INGO telling us we should all "vote our conscience and principles" do so knowing that Obama will be reelected. There is no one in this race (including Paul) that represents my principles. Therefore I have to find the person that best represents my overall ideal candidate that actually has a chance to defeat the person who represents my least ideal candidate.

I realize that it's a difficult proposition for some to understand, but I'm comfortable with voting for someone good in the absence of someone great.

    Yup!
The "perfect" candidate doesn't exist, and never will.
We're stuck with voting for our fellow flawed, imperfect, humans.

    1. Romney has next to 0% chance of beating supreme leader.
    2. If by some miracle Romney does win, see you in year two/three of his term whining about the exact same things and how it's imperative we elect someone else to guarantee he doesn't get another term.
    3. What is it they say about doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome....

Between the rock and that hardplace
This year's choice may well end up being between ****ty and ****tier.

And the rape of Lady Liberty continues.

    IMO the choices will be,

    1. Damn the torpedoes full speed ahead, no make that Flank speed toward the inevitable.

    2. Let's at least try to slow this ship down a little while headed toward the inevitable.

    3. Let's do nothing by making a protest vote no one is listening to OR cares about while headed toward the inevitable.

Lady Liberty will continue being raped no matter who is elected. Thinking this can/will be turned around at this late stage of the game is wishful thinking IMO. If and when the inevitable does happen it will not return to a Representative Republic, it will be something even MUCH worse than we have now.
