A portion of our Star Wars costuming group was waiting to be escorted into the Evansville Icemen game last night. 5 EPD cars showed up to investigate and one of the officers even got his M-4 out of his car. Some one had seen the stormtrooper gun and called it in. The officers were very cool about the whole thing

I hope the person that called in got the opportunity to sit next to the stormtroopers !! At least they will be comforted knowing they are safe sitting next to fake weapons.

Hopefully, the person making the Stormtrooper 'gun call' is charged with false reporting.

The clowns making these calls should at least be called in for a visit with the police and educated about making frivolous reports. Happens way to often, wastes resources and could cause harm if a REAL emergency took place while officers are tied up with bs.

Note to self when I turn to a life of crime: Guys in stormtrooper (star wars) outfits holding what appear to be toy guns won't ever be seen as possibly committing a crime.

I would assume that officers were dispatched to a person with a gun at the stadium, but none of us know. If my family and friends were in there I would want officers to protect me with carbines. The fact of the matter is a lightweight hollow point from a carbine will penetrate less and is more accurate than a handgun. In my opinion a carbine is a better choice in that situation. Modern sporting rifles may offend some anti-2nd amendment types and people who are not familiar with the weapon system but the fact remains it is the right tool for the job more often than not.

I seriously doubt the dispatch went out as "Costumed entertainers with a fake laser gun"

ok im giving you the whole storm trooper costume part, the costume should be a giveaway, but as for the gun part, i had a guy come into the gunshop looking for a sling to shoulder carry his heavy blaster, you know the one that looks like a mg42.
now the stormtroopers carried light blasters, you know the ones that looked like sten guns.
han solo carried a dl44 heavy blaster, you know the one that looks like a bolo mauser.
the jawa's used a ion blaster, it looked like a lee enfield with a cut off stock.
there are more, but you get the point, yes, you me and the 501st all know they are foam rubber, or plastic, but the police dont,

You are going to make me rewatch all 6 episodes aren't you! I remember some of the storm troopers with capes had some serious firepower at one point.

Why would you go to a man with a gun run with another pistol. Carbine is fine. If you have looked at the crime maps, the "shots fired" runs have increased dramatically.
