Depends on a lot on the clarity of the water. Not a diver, but been around a lot of recovery operations. Some in the White river, mostly retention ponds or a few larger ones. It takes them quite a while to cover even a small retention pond due to how they are doing it by feel once they are barely under the surface due to the murkiness.
