Its a sales pitch... his specialty.

This guy has spent decades funding the coffers of gun-banners (including the Clinton Foundation) and supporting bans on assault weapons.

Notice that he didn't say "What I wrote in my book was wrong." He only claims that AR-15's didn't apply to the bans that he advocated.

Trump is entertaining and his business accomplishments are impressive.

Leader of the free world? Um....no.

It would be impossible for him to do worse than the current resident of the White House, nor the expected next tenant whose name rhymes with Schmillary Schlinton.

Trump is a populist. He's saying the things many want to hear and he's saying them in a straight-forward, maybe even forceful, manner that many people have grown weary of with all the other, recent candidates. Now, whether his convictions align with what he's saying and whether he'd actually govern according to his rhetoric--that's a whole other quandary.

It's too bad we won't know until he puts his pen and phone to use. Lol

He's dead wrong on guns and I don't believe that will ever change, but he sure is right on immigration...and it really bothers me that he is the only GOP candidate that is willing to tackle the immigration problem with open eyes. It's a winning issue and he is #1 in several polls (North Carolina state poll, among others) probably because of his immigration stance alone.

I'd like to take credit for dreaming this up but I can't remember from where I heard some variation of: All you really have to do to know how much a candidate believes in the 2A is to ask them if they'd sign onto a bill that would repeal laws like NFA and GCA. Any equivocation, anything other than a 'yes' or '****-yes', tells you all you really need to know.

With a republican lead House and Senate, there's not really much he'd be able to pass through, law wise, that would negatively effect us.

And I think he'd be the only candidate that could possibly effectively balance our budget and get our nation back on track in that regard.

It would be impossible for him to do worse than the current resident of the White House, nor the expected next tenant whose name rhymes with Schmillary Schlinton.

How does Trump have the skills to balance a budget?

His money was made in real estate - perhaps the most leveraged industry known to man. Didn't he say at one point, something along the lines of, "If you owe the bank a million dollars, the bank owns you. If you owe the bank a hundred million, you own the bank." Probably not a good resume for lowering debt.

Even if he does have the desire to balance the budget, he has no experience in legislating. The only games he plays are the ones where he makes the decisions. That is not government. At least, not our government.

C'mon, there is NEVER a bottom to the level of incompetence that can be unleashed. It can ALWAYS get worse, not to say that the current level is not very bad...but it truly could always be worse. I've seen it too many times at a local government level, there is no reason why the National level would be immune to it.

Keep in mind trump is an idiot. And what's scary is he's polling well. I even think people like him, but he's probably quite refreshing to a number of voters because he's non-PC and speaks his mind. So maybe he isn't an idiot after all.

Perhaps I should rephrase. I didn't mean that it was impossible for anyone to do worse. I believe that it's impossible specifically for Donald Trump to do worse than the current resident of the White House.

The fact that DONALD TRUMP.....DONALD TRUMP....is even getting serious support says volumes about the current state of the Republican Party and the 14 (possibly 16) candidates trying for the nomination. Having said that, I like Rand Paul. Trump is a salesman, as showman, and he says what he thinks will sell. The party is having an identity crisis and we will see how 14 candidates will tear each other down in their effort to get the nomination and in doing so, fracturing the party further.

I got ya. I think he would be worse...but that's just my worthless opinion.

    I don't support him.

I look at what he has accomplished (net) and I weigh that against the non-accomplishments of the current resident of the White House. There is no comparison.
