Advice on carrying a gun I read in Rogue Warrior many years ago that is still 100% true today

P365 and P365x both have 3.1” barrels, the x has about a half inch longer grip. The x and xl have the same length grip and the xl has a 3.7” barrel. For me the longer grip is more difficult to conceal, barrel length has little to do with it. YMMV

For me, the longer barrel gets pushed up when I’m sitting which makes the grip push into my side. I’m 5’ 7” and pushing 60 years old. YMMV

I'm pretty well committed to the Walther CCP in a strong side, leather IWB holster for EDC...

If I'm just making a quick, local run, sometimes my PPK is a bit easier to conceal.

And if I'm just putzin' around the yard, I'll slip into my pocket John Browning's, little work of art, a Colt Model of 1908 Vest Pocket.

36 in a Desantis mini scabbard OWB, virtually disappears. When I want to “sneak” a little more, a j-frame desantis inside heat works well.

Shield .45 for me. Easy to upgrade the sights and carries IWB quite easily. I keep the 7 rd mag in it with a spare in my pocket. No one even has a clue that it is there. Big enough to get the job done, but small enough to carry all day. And definitely get a good gun belt . That will solve any "sagging" problem you might have. Daltech in northern IN has a great selection. Add a quality leather IWB holster and you are good to go. But be forewarned. Holsters are easier to find for the Shield .40s and 9mms than the .45. But I think carrying a .45 is worth the search.

Good luck in your search. It is a delightful problem to have. :)

Like many others, I have tried various setups and different guns. Glocks, Sigs, Shields, 1911's, many J-frame-sized revolvers for EDC.

A Ruger LCR in .327 mag. 6 shot, lightweight and low-recoil, in the front pocket is what works best for me. I can draw from the pocket and present in about 1 second if my hands are already there inconspicuously. I don't need 15 rounds with a red dot, as I will not be staying around to exchange rounds with a threat unless I have access to a good battle rifle, or an M249 SAW.

This is my basic EDC setup for 90% of the time. It’s a Sig P229 in .357 Sig riding in a Kramer horsehide OWB scabbard. On occasion, I’ll carry a P226 and on really hot, humid summer days, I’ll carry a Shield Plus when mowing.

I carry an M&P shield in an IWB rig from ProTEQ Custom Gear. Stephen's Riggs are so comfortable that I have frequently taken a Sunday afternoon nap without noticing the rig was still on when I woke up.

For a lot of years now my holsters have all been Kramer Leather https://www.kramerleather.com I have carried 1911's, Sig 229's, Colt 1903 Hammerless, S&W 59's, Glocks (hated), STI 2011 6", S&W 640, and etc. My main carry has been the 1911 all others were mandated at times. I use leather belts and change then as needed. I use leather holsters as they work best for me. I have carried on jobs where was told don't or get fired and no one was the wiser. The holster and the way you wear it will do a lot on making carry work. I am 76 and carried the 1911 from a boy so that is what works for me. What ever gun you buy put 10,000 plus rounds down range and it will start to fell like part of your hand when you pick it up. Don't expect a gun to fill right the first time you try shooting with it.

Left-handed. My preference is Safariland GLS OWB, with shirt tail or jacket for cover is my preference. I have Aliengear and other IWB holsters, when needed.

An FN-9c in a Crossbreed Super Tuck is what I use everyday. I used to carry a full size M&P .45 owb, it was horrendously uncomfortable, poked my in the fat rolls when I would sit in a chair, nearly impossible to drive with it on, and God forbid you’d need to conceal it. IWB with a compact gun is so much better, I don’t even really feel it anymore.

A good carry belt (I used a Galco for years (standard black leather, still use it for formal dress), now I run a Blue Alpha Hybrid) and whatever I carry at the time. I started with an M&P compact in a Galco IWB, then a Bodyguard 380 in a Flashbang Kydex IWB, and right now I primarily use a Shield 9mm in Black Rhino Concealment Kydex IWB.

"Deep" concealment, I use the Bodyguard with a couple of extra mags in my pocket, standard I use the Shield with the same. My Shield is almost 10 years old, if I were to buy something today I would get something with a little more compacity.

I am 5'9" weigh 250 pounds and till Arthritis set in to my hands I carried and shot an STI Perfect 10 with a 6" barrel in a IWB Kramer holster. The right holster makes all the difference on carrying a big gun. One that carries to your bodyshap, not what the expert writes you should wear, is the one to use! My bodyshap requires the grip to point out not in and as most people gets older has the same problem.

Good belt and OWB paddle holster. And a Glock 19. Large button up shirt covers this nicely.

When I need to be more discreet. Pocket carry a Ruger LCP with loose ish pants.
