:yesway: :lmfao:  You're still new yet .

Stick around awhile and you'll see that about the only damn thing we agree on around here is that we should be allowed to have guns , and sometimes we even argue about that .

    :welcome: to :ingo:

Well, we all agree that .45 is better than 9mm, CC is superior to OC, we have gun permits and we all use clips NOT magazines.

CZB1962, you are correct you need no justification to sell your property.
And since it is your property, price it however you like. At $20 a box you will likely get it sold on armslist. There are those out there, that will be glad to have it. I have been buying ammo a loooooong time, so like others on here, I will wait for the market to settle, if I happen to be at an establishment that sells ammo, and they have it in stock, then yes I will buy it and put it in my pile. Because as I have stated before, it is a lot like gasoline, once a price gets established it rarely goes down. So the ammo we are buying today at $26 dollars a box, may be $30 dollars a box next year. I say buy and keep all you can afford.

    Welcome to the forum. BTW.

    Thanks for the welcome.

The irony is that I have decided to do just that. As I said in another post, my 21 year old just purchased a SR9c and will need ammo as well.

I might be able to get him to pay even more.

Too late... Oh well at least you might be able to get 50 posts in this one thread! oh I'm just kidding CZB196.

Don't say that or someone will jump in and say that was my devious plan all the time. I wish I were that smart.

Let's see....what other hot topic could I get started. Oh I know, what do you think about CC vs OC......and .....go!:D

I was surprised that the prices on ammo at the 1500 were so high. I guess that I thought that people would be more reasonable there. I have not been able to find the ammo I want at my local Walmart here in Indy. It was surprising to see the post of the receipts from Walmart that actually have ammo. Do you have to wait inline on stocking day to find it?

Just got back from the 1500, some of the ammo prices were HIGHER than the last 1500...

This will fall on deaf ears but maybe a few will consider it...

Tell person at every booth and table at the Indy1500 with Ammo Flipper Prices to get bent.

When they're on the hook for tons of ammo they can't move maybe at the next show they'll show up with actual ammo deals to get at least part of their investments back.

    :rockwoot:
I agree! At first I did not, but now I think the problem with the ammo is the consumer...that is some consumers jacking the hell out of other consumers. I have just stuck to buying from the LGS like always. I don't get the same amount that I used to each time, but at least I am paying what the ammo is worth and not much more.:twocents:

Was at the Gun show today, no line at noon and adeqaute walking space. Plenty of AR's at decent prices. No one is openly buying like they used to. Atleast AR's. AK's were disgustingly priced $900 and more.

Ammo was everywhere but 9mm and .22 prices were ridiculous!! One box of tula 9mm was $20 bucks and 30 for brass. 500 rounds were 250-300. .22 was 50 dollars for a box of 500 and 100 for 1000 rounds.

Then I overheard a vendor talking to another vendor and he complained that just "no one is buying ammo" well yes you jackass, no one can afford your overpriced ammo. Its not that its not out there guys, its these *******s trying to gouge their own kind.. makes me sick.

Did buy a big bag of jerky and a dust cover though :)

Went to the show yesterday to try to find a oddball holster and looked at ammo while I was there. Following your suggestion was easy with the prices I saw on all of the 9mm at the show. There was plenty of it but even cheap practice FMJ was going at $22+ for a box of 20. I saw one guy with Hydra-Shok, 124 grain 9mm at $37 for a box of 20. No thanks....

I too was able to score some Winchester White box 5.56 today when we went shopping at our local Walmart. I did buy my limit, it was $12.27 a box.
Ouch! I'm not used to those prices for 5.56. It's just 55gr. FMJ, nothing special.

Went to the 1500 today, 9mm prices were astronomical. I didn't spend a dime on the price gougers, picked up 80 rounds of surplus 54r, about the only thing still at or close to pre-panic prices. Shooters surplus had the best prices I think, but still overpriced.

If this is directed at me, I don't go out of my way to look for ammo.
If we happen to be at walmart, I do look in the ammo cabinet, I have on occasion gotten lucky and recently found ammo a few times.

    50 rounds of Federal 9mm is $12.97
    100 rounds of WWB 9mm is $24.97
    WWB of .223 20 rounds is $12.97

I don't sell ammo, I shoot my guns, and I will continue to build my ammo supply. This is why I asked the OP why he would want to sell it in the first place. He is simply trying to get justification to sell it. And to the OP, to me it would be worth more than $5 dollars for the amt. of my time and gas to find ammo. So to answer the OP's question, NO I do not feel that a $5 dollar profit is "gouging", to me "gouging is doubling your money, or more". So if you were to ask $30 for a 50 round box, then yes you're "gouging". Some on here in other threads hold that there is no such thing as "gouging".

It wasn't directed at you, and not necessarily anyone in this thread. Just a general statement. I was just pointing out the irony that people are complaining, more accurately blaming people for, the ammo shortage in the same breath that they are talking about searching for ammo or buying ammo anytime they come across it. They aren't helping the supply chain any more than so called gougers. In fact, they are helping less. At least the "gougers" are putting the ammo back into the marketplace. A lot of the belly achers here are just 'hoarding' it or shooting it.

Also, I happen to be in the crowd that believes gouging does not exist outside of a socialist/communist society. There are THOUSANDS of entities selling ammo, and not a one of them is twisting your arm making you buy ammo for a price higher than what people want to pay. Like I've said before, call me when one entity controls the entire purchasable water supply and begins charging $1,000/liter. Then we can talk about price gouging.

Of course I want cheap ammo, just as much as the next guy. Sure I ***** about how expensive and hard to find it is. I DON'T belittle and demean people who are putting in the time to acquire ammo and then turn it for a profit. I mean come on... For a bunch of supposed Constitution lovers, some of ya sure sound like a bunch of anti-business, anti-capitalist, communism loving liberals. You either like freedom or you don't :twocents:

I left at noon and saw a lot of 9 and white box stuff that was about Walmart pricing, was hard to find though, even some Speer 380 that was typical online price.

I'll agree that .22 was a bit high, was surprised to see AR and AK mag prices are just about back to what they use to be, saw quite a few non window p mags for 16 ish dollar range.

Just have to look hard. Not to mention just about every dealer will haggle a little.
