I'm in the process of building a 10.5" AR pistol in 300blk.

I'm leaning toward a red-dot of some type, and want to keep it < $500.

Would would you get or what would you suggest?

I'd look for a used aimpoint comp m2 or m3. The h1 or h2 isn't nightvision compatible in case you ever get nighyvision.

My recommendation was on the fact that $500 was top end, so night vision is probably not in the cards. For Night use, T1 or T2.

Like my MRO. It's reliable. The downsides I can live with (a bit of blue tint and a bit of fish eye). The new serial number MRO's are supposed to have much less fish eye and blue tint.

Aimpoint is the only other brand I'd look at.

If you have $500, don't waste your money on Primary Arms or any of the other budget crap. Buy an Aimpoint or Trijicon and be done with it. Buy once, cry once.
