I found this Water BOB that has gotten good reviews. You put it in your tub and fill it with water, holds like 100 gallons.

They have a deal where you can buy 4 and get one free. With shipping it works out to about $18.35 each.
I'd like one...
I went for a painfully long walk the other day and came to the realization that my current GHB isn't working the way I'd like. It's a laptop-style messenger bag, and while it does great for that sort of thing, it's not a good GHB because it's not comfortable to carry..
Here's what I'm looking...
This morning on Fox 59 they gave descriptions of what we should have in our BOB's. It was a short segment but not too bad. However they certainly did not recommend what firearm you might include...:D
HI! I was wondering if anyone could explain the pro's and cons of a rigid frame pack like an ALICE ruck sac over one with no frame? which is better for a bug out bag?thanks
I bought one of these awhile ago and thought it is a great addition to my cache. does anybody else own one?

I live in the north east indianapolis area and have family in eastern indiana.
In the event of SHTH, etc., I'm planning a back road route to get "home"
What do you think a person would need to bring?
Best gun?
I'm perhaps paranoid, but I could see a rough trip in the event of first the...
If you can only grab one...go for the rifle? pistol? shotgun? etc?
from a selection of a glock19, rem 870, and ar15
id go with the 870 and as much shells I can carry.
I'm new to the whole SHTF awareness stuff, and I'm looking to build my first BOB.
I guess my questions are:
1) What type of bag?
2) What gear is most important?
3) Where do you stash it?
4) How many of these do you build?
5) Do you build certain BOB's for different situations?
6) Is this hard...
I am in the process of build my BOB. Right now I am using a cheap backpack with a hydration system. I am wondering which pack would be better. A dedicated hiking/camping pack or a more "Tacticool" pack like some thing from Blackhawk or Maxpedition. I kinda like the later of the two because of...
I'm in the process of building a bugout bag for my fiancee and myself. I'm looking at food supplies and I'm thinking MRE's\dehydrated Mountain House food\Freezer bag cooking. So in terms of a stove I am looking at just something to boil water.
I'm looking at stoves and I'm debating between...
I bought a surplus large molle rucksack and a 3 day assault pack for $90. I was 11m in the army from 95-99 and what a huge improvement they've made in gear. I also bought a molle load bearing vest. They must have done some serious field testing with grunts to design these. Usually if I went...
Was thinking about this the other day...
Who has a spare SHTF vehicle. Old truck, old 4 runner or jeep.
Loaded with tools, blankets, hatchets, drinking water, spare fuel etc.
Any body have one?
If so, what is it?
What have you stocked it with for emergencies?
AAR: Wetsu's trail of frozen tears 2008
This past Saturday (12/20/08) I participated in a bug out exercise with 5 other misguided individuals. The event was organized by Wetsu the survival instructor from Tactical Response (Tactical Response) who just happens to live in northeastern...
Like many reading this I am a bag whore and my quest for the perfect BOE (Bag of Evil), the MCS name for our EDC bags, has over the years seen several bags from backpacks to messenger bags. Several years ago I gave up using a backpack for EDC for three reasons. One was that I seldom used both...
This could probably go a couple of places but I am putting it in here because the purpose of it is for SHTF.
I was thinking about keeping a cheap (<$150), 12 gauge 18'' barrel in my explorer for a SHTF situation. I have a sort of “hidden” compartment under the rear seat where I could keep it...
I guess I'll start by saying this is my bag that stays in my truck at all times. I keep a lot of stuff in the back of my Explorer that supplements some of this bag which I will list later. I will also post a link to what my first aid kit consists of instead of completely breaking down my entire...
Just a friendly reminder that winter is right around the corner.
Don't forget to winterize your BOB's & BOV's for the oncoming seasonal changes. Winter Clothing, Straps, Shovels, Kitty Litter, etc...
:)
I was just thinking of adding a laptop into my Bug out kit. One can store insane quantities of info on one. Plus with inverters and solar power options the uses can be endless.
Opinions....
After doing some reading it makes perfect sense to have a BOB that is always ready to go when you need it. I am not expecting to need it anytime soon, and I am not one to think that zombies will be invading, but a littler preparedness never hurt anyone (much)
So, Here's the plan
1) Start from...
Just a heads up -
Since most of the "Back To School" stuff is on clearance, now is a great time to pick up back packs if you use them to stow your "get from here to there" stuff in your vehicle or packed and tucked in the corner of your closet...
I just picked up three for $3.00 bucks. Looks...
