Well, I mean no harm. I just like to have a little fun. Some people are too uppity. I like this forum and learn a lot from it, but some of the stuff cracks me up.
That is what I was guessing and it makes sense, but I wish they would have included 30 seconds of dialog about their logic!
In looking back more at the movie they showed things that didn't make sense, but were necessary for a visual effect. For example, skeletons hanging from rope that was supposed to be years old. Either the rope would rot or the weight of the skeleton would have ripped the neck away. I don't mind that so much because I understand what the movie director was needing to accomplish.
I think this is a big problem movie directors have when converting a book. In the book the author can communicate the feeling, texture, thoughts, whatever he/she needs to explain something to the reader. In the movie if it isn't said or isn't seen it doesn't exist. We viewers have no window into the subtleties of the writer.
The greatest example I can remember from a book to a movie is a scene in Steven Kings book "Salem's Lot." In the book there is a scene where the little boy spits in the face of the vampire. In the book you understand the rage and fury of the vampire. He is over 1000 years old and has lived for centuries. He is the most powerful creature he has ever met and this little boy, this nothing, DARES to spit in HIS face! He maintains his outer appearance of calm and control but inside his mind is almost snapping he is that pissed off! In the movie you see the little boy show some spunk and spit in the mean old vampires face.
I think I will see "The Road" again. I also want to read the book but that won't be for a while. I have classes starting again and have been trying to read more about WWI. You would think: Single & no children = loads of free time. I suppose in some ways I have a great deal of free time, it is just that I choose to fill it up w/ school, guns, producing and hosting two (2) television programs, etc.
The move is close to finished. It's great to be back and getting all you men intouch with your feelings! You shall all be crying like girls in no time!
Thanks for the welcome back Man. You have all been missed.
I screwed up man. Bad day and everything in general. I just hate how Obama intrudes into even conversations that have nothing to do with him. I am sorry and I put that in public too. I acted like an *** in public and for no real reason.
