A couple of thoughts. It looks like those sights are going to be obnoxiously tall for a red dot cowitness to begin with, unless that's what you want. But, to me it looks like they're going to block a lot of the window. Also, the 407K / 507K sights have a rear sight built in, so you could possibly find a different front sight that would work correctly.

I think you need to do some measuring in regard to how tall the optic will be once mounted and the height of those suppressor sights.

For some comparison, here is an Sig Romeo 1 Pro with standard height sites.

It cowtinesses at the very bottom of the window.

You would need a plate to match up with suppressor height sights but Firehawk could easily swap a front sight and go direct?

That being said, if he plans to run that with a can - it is pretty easy to use the top of the can to sight with for minute of man accuracy...

Yes the sights are very tall and being too tall was one of my concerns I forgot to mention earlier.

I didn’t realize the 407/507k had the rear sight notch. Thanks for pointing that out. That could make things much simpler.

How easy/difficult is it to find and acquire the correct height front sight if I go that route?

Dawson Precision (in the past) has been great to work with to figure out a front sight height.
This^^^
Or you may be fine picking up a standard height stock cz front sight.

In the country, hopefully.
Morning CZickos

I need advice from the group about adding a red dot on my P01 Omega with suppressor height sights. Originally I was thinking of having the slide milled forward of the rear sight so that I could co-witness with the suppressor height sights. The problem is that the rear sight is large and would require the optic cut pretty far forward on the slide. I think it’s doable but I’d have to modify my 1791 optics ready holster so the red dot can sit deeper.

Does anyone else have a red dot on a 75 style slide with the suppressor height sights? I suppose the other option is to just remove the rear sight and have the red dot mounted further back on the slide. But then I have an unnecessarily tall front sight that serves no purpose. Are there any other options I’m missing?

I’ll probably have AllenM do the work and I’m thinking of a 507K, but I’m open to considering other sights.

I’ll jump in here and say that it’s not that I’m not for co-witnessed sights; I’m actually very against it.
Now of course, you do you, and many people get along ok with them, but I’ve taken quite a few classes and from what I take away co-witnessing is a misnomer at best and a hinderance at worst.

Until I saw B2V’s picture, I didn’t believe a dot would fit between the ejection and the sight. So value my advice for what you paid for it ;)

I would definitely not worry about modifying the holster, let the holster come to the gun, don’t do anything based on a $80 or whatever holster.

Here are my CZ dots, 1 by Allen 2 by me.

I also have some 320’s, one of which may have suppressor height sights. It’s been a minute, shame on me!

You are more than welcome to come by and measure/fondle/shoot any of them.

Allen had a reason he milled it forward, said it would have interfered with something in the slide but as I am old I can’t recall his explanation. I believe the notch on the back of the holosun would work in a pinch even if I did not have a rear sight.

The ria ultra tax fs hc or whatever the heck it’s called is a shooter. Not as natural as a cz for me but does the job. Here’s my best group. All others were 90- 100 percent by doddg standards but not this tight. Sights are more of a six o’clock hold that isn’t my favorite but it’s a fun gun to shoot. I didn’t label mags but have one thst is not locking back for sure. Maybe multiple. By hand three of the four mags I have lock back. Assuming I kept grabbing the mag that didn’t and thought I had bigger problem than I thought

Any thoughts from the 1911 folk? Should I change plunger spring if it is a common occurrence and not just the one mag like im hoping. There’s a thread on another forum that had similar problem and that fixed it. If so which one would you all recommend

The fn502 has quickly become my favorite polymer 22 even over the tx22
