Was looking for the DeSantis thread to post and found something interesting, The Trump thread is active almost daily, Ramaswamy thread is active weekly, Pence and Hailey not active since the 14th, Scott since the 13th, and the DeSantis thread is five pages of political discussion back to the 7th.

Not much genuine interest in DeSantis as a presidential candidate on the merits, just as a cudgel against Trump…

In the upcoming election my question of the candidates is simply this; who will burn it down?

Who really will take on the deep state? I know what the usual naysayers will chirp, he had four years why didn’t he then? Because he did not fully understand the breadth and width of the problem. No one understood how deep the corruption ran and how organized it was. He knows now because of what the system did to him and his family.

For Trump, this is personal, not academic like most of the other repubs. This is the moment, choose wisely…

Do you think he will be around or even allowed to be around to take office ever again? I can’t see how his swamp enemies will ever allow it. They not having success in the courts, and even with borders wide open they may not get enough Mexican democrats that way. I doubt that’s the only 2 plans they got. My answer is Trump won’t make it back into office, even if he is around to win.

I think our two houses of congress were intended to address this fact, with the senate representing the interests of the landed gentry…today’s chamber of commerce republicans, and the house meant be a populist body.
While it’s true that the House was intended to represent the people, and regardless of wealth, the Senate was intended to represent the states’ interests in the federal government. Prior to the 17th amendment state legislatures picked Senators. I don’t think the founders ever wanted an “establishment” formed. Populism IS democracy.

He will either take office and go after the establishment or their attempts to take him down will further expose them as he has already exposed so much so far, things many couldn't fathom before…

Trump locked no one down. He left that up to the states where the decision belongs.
That’s a bit of a copout. It was his government’s recommendation. That gave every governor cover to follow the advice. It’s the safest action. If it goes wrong, “hey, we were just following the Fed’s recommendations.”

It is beyond incredulous that it was “his” government. If it was “his”; why did it attack him?

I know no one that thought that the CDC would not protect Americans in the face of an actual medical/science disaster even with their track record of politicization.

    Is that what I said?
Then spell it out. What he said doesn't matter. What he did doesn't matter. What does other than your feelings about him?

He talked a good game on the 2A, until he didn't. Red flag laws, raising the age to buy a gun to 21, bump stock EO, pushing Congress to pass new anti-guns laws(which thankfully they didn't). Why should we believe that he would sign a new anti-gun law if there is another mass murder when he is President?

That’s a completely different failure than the one we’re talking about. :):
