I hear them talking about the “Arnold Tool” which apparently somehow ties a judge’s hands when it comes to release or sentencing. I suspect this was used to release the one in the Isotopes shooting.

Sounds like we need to replace that with sanity, or stiffen up the penalties/ recommendations a whole bunch!!

Interestingly, if you read the second to last paragraph it explains how they elected to NOT FOLLOW the Arnold Tool when it came to a case that directly affected the legislators? Big stink about this at the time that quickly faded.

Read the included link at the bottom of this one, on Salmon Peña for a laugh a minute…..

I have yet to get an e-mail back from John Block. I am hoping that I at least got lost in numerous e-mails and he is taking this serious and not just talking just to get reelected.
Nothing is going to happen on the recall. Dems have big majorities in both branches. All Republicans (I believe) and No Democrats (I’m sure) have signed into the recall effort.

Reps. Block and Lord made an effort, but I suspect they knew all along it was going nowhere. You don’t hear about it much except from the Pinion Post, where Block is the editor.

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for a reply.

Sounds like what Boss Hogg and Revolving Door Ryan (Mears) here in Indy use.

The case of Solomon Peña, the man accused of being involved in shooting cases at elected officials’ homes, came up as an example in the discussion: Peña was detained, but the Arnold Tool recommended his release.

In other news: water is wet.

Senator Linda Lopez (D-Albuquerque) is sponsoring a bill this session that she says would apply a better filter for how much of a potential threat a defendant is.

Doesn’t mention Indiana, but does not include every jurisdiction. Chicago and Milwaukee are mentioned, so I think we could “fairly” say it seems to be working out well. For the criminals…….

I had never heard of this until I moved here, but I’m not in the criminal Justice system. Hopefully, any way!!!

You probably never heard about this living in the midwest, so you might not recall when our commie governor issued the health order outlawing UTVs on city streets, way back then.

The guy made a run for the border and his buddies hid the machine that he was driving when he killed the kid. Three guesses whether he was here legally, and the first two don’t count.

I’m not quite sure how claiming to NOT be intoxicated at the time helps his case? He admits to hitting and killing the young boy, but saying he was intoxicated at the time is a claim too far.

Sentencing set for November so we still don’t know how much of the 30.5 year sentence was given. Likely out on an ankle monitor until sentencing.

    Finally got a response.

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for reaching out. I appreciate your input and apologize for just getting back to you now, as I have had so many emails of support for our impeachment efforts.

To help continue our efforts, please share the petition with any folks you may know so they can urge holdouts who have not signed our certification form to sign to impeach the governor. We will also need your help when we get back in session to hold these lawmakers' feet to the fire to ensure Gov. Lujan Grisham is held accountable.

Again, thank you for reaching out, Chris, and God bless,

    John

    Awesome!!!

I stand corrected, and happy about it. It does sound a bit like he thinks you’re a NM resident?

I kinda got that impression also but this was my e-mail to him.

    Dear Rep Block

I am an Indiana resident and have been watching this closely. As a non resident of New Mexico I have however traveled thru there many times. What this Governor has done effects everyone in this country. I did sign the petition to have her impeached. However I'm not sure if that will help. I am reaching out to you to ask if there is anything non residents can do to help with this fight. I feel if something like this can happen there than sooner or later someone will try it here. Thanks.

Well, that’s pretty clear. If anyone really read it or did they just respond with a form letter. I’ll be the first to admit I’m pretty jaded lately. I need to retire. 6/11/2024 can’t get here soon enough, I hope there’s something left of the world yet?

The Fed judge yesterday decided to NOT PUT A STAY on the amended health order banning the carry of firearms in parks, playgrounds, and places where children play. These are places NOT attached to schools, which are already covered under existing law.

I will post a link to that now.

Here’s a list of actual crime bills the NM Republicans proposed last session that were killed in various methods by the Democrats.

W have a governor here who is trying to ban all carry, open and concealed by law abiding citizens, including New Mexico licensed concealed carriers. All while conceding that criminals won’t follow her orders, but claiming this will make me safer. The is happening in the most dangerous city and county in the state, which I live in.

If that”s not the very definition of dire distress, I don’t know what is?

Flying upside down, is the equivalent of calling 911.

Are you calling 911 every day over it?

    “She is expecting legal challenges”

If someone is willingly and knowingly stripping constitutional rights, they should be removed from office inmediately. She knows she will face legal consequences and remain in her position. What sense does it make to allow someone to strip peoples rights away for an amount of time when she knows it will be reinstated, but for 30 days citizens did not have their constitutional right to bear arms.

We allow this. We get on forums and bitch. We sit around the dinner table and bitch. We tell our coworkers and friends. But at the end of the day, she remains uninterrupted in her position, and citizens were stripped of their rights.

We continue to watch the constitution be a suggestion for politicians. It is no longer a rule they must abide by, it is now a document that they find ways to go around. Start locking them in prison and removing them from office when it is blatant.

    Before phones existed maybe.

If i am dying, im not gonna run to the yard and run an upside down flag up the pole. 95% of our country doesnt even know what that means anyway. They probably think its some liberal protest :):
My 35 year old ultra liberal daughter, who is the reason we moved here, didn’t know what it meant. She googled it and asked me what I was protesting. Didn’t like my answer, but still utilizing the free childcare services her Mom provides.

We bought a new safe and had to have a new part installed on warranty. The repair guy asked my wife WHY we were flying the flag upside down. I was in SLC. She said my husband is protesting the governor’s gun ban. He said, “ I think the governor is doing a pretty good job, but we need a new Mayor. (Both are commies of the same ilk)

I don’t like the idea that much myself, but felt like something needed to be done. Other options of course were possible. I work out of one of the not best parts of town, homeless people seen in multiples every night.

This is pretty much where I’m at. They don’t seem to understand, or are willfully choosing to ignore, that the Constitution doesn’t limit what I can do, but limits what the .gov can do to me.

Just to clarify, the order was put into place late on a Friday. The following Tuesday, early, a Biden judge put a stay on it, so technically the ban was in place for 3.5 days. Nobody changed anything I doubt. But the idea of a $5000.00 fine was bandied about. All law enforcement came out with this is unconstitutional and we will not enforce it except the NM State Patrol, which is under direct control of the governor. No word either way from them, that I’ve seen.

Does everybody remember how the courts jumped in immediately and stopped the .gov from attempting to stop you from leaving your home, or attending the church of your choice, along with several other mandates. All under a health order. Me neither. They got away with that for almost three years here. That worked so well she thought she would try it with guns. While I disagree entirely with the idea, I’m less sure that she might not get away with it, at least for way longer than she should. Which would be about 20 seconds.

The following Friday, late again she amended the order to only include parks and playgrounds where children could be expected to be. Unclear if that’s only P & P or ANYWHERE children could be expected to be? Again on the following Tuesday the same judge upheld this order saying something (my paraphrase as I understand it) like since schools playgrounds are protected places it’s not too far of a reach to think public playgrounds could also be protected places, and upheld that order until the six lawsuits against this work their way thru the system. Not sure when the last time a State Patrol officer was actually in a park or playground on duty? This order was just extended for another 30 days, until December 1st. I fully expect her to keep extending it forever, unless she’s stopped.

Before it’s asked, I’m a member of both GOA and NMSSA. (New Mexico Shooting Sports Association.
