When I was a kid my dads mechanic had a sign that read
    LABOR RATES...

    $50 A HOUR
$60 A HOUR IF YOU WATCH
$70 A HOUR IF YOU HELP
$80 A HOUR IF YOU ALREADY KNOW WHATS WRONG
$90 A HOUR IF YOU ALREADY TRIED FIXING IT.

    Or something like that....lol
Have this sign at my shop

One must 100% completely disassemble it to get it squeaky clean and properly disinfected in the dishwasher. If you don't put all the parts into a large box and shake it vigorously afterward, it removes all challenge when reassembling it. Most people enjoy a good puzzle.

If you don't know what it does, don't f*** with it!

I had a customer that developed a clogged bathroom vanity drain.
He decided to do something about it himself.
He went to Ace Hardware and bought a hand-crank 25' drain snake.
He ran this snake 20' down the drain and then got it stuck.
It wouldn't go forward and wouldn't come back out.
    So, what to do now?
He cut the snake cable off about 2" outside of the drainpipe and put the drain back together, them called me to come fix the problem.

We ended up removing about 20 square feet of flooring and had to cut the obstructed pipe out to replace it.

I have seen people show up at the brand specific boards and ask how to put something back together. I always like it when they are told, "well, you need a specific tool to do it". I guess it is a learning thing at that point.
