It’s an accomplishment to get it done I guess. I mean Trump got bump stocks banned. It’s just not a good accomplishment.
DeSantis signed it while giving his "money men" a *wink* and a nod.

So why cite a bill mandating it as an accomplishment, then?
My point in citing that is it's something DeSantis did which aligns with his current overall stance that I presented. You yourself inferred that it was an accomplishment "better late than never."

Once again he has given me no indication thus far that leads me to believe he would be soft on illegal immigration. If he turned soft should he get elected I'm positive it would be political suicide with the voters who elected him because of his current stance on that issue and his future aspirations would be in the toilet. That's the buffer which I'm relying to keep him honest.

I think the only consensus to be had here is that I can't convince you he won't turn soft even though I've presented actual things to support my position to make me believe he won't, and you haven't convinced me that he will.

How many times has it been frowned upon here for presenting pure speculation without any tangible evidence?
Schedule F exists in the federal record as an EO signed by the president and put into effect, so tangible evidence of intent

Now, do how little credit Trump is allowed for making the attempt and what canards get introduced to allow some to do so. Same on building the wall

Those who want to hold Trump to ridiculously high standards, despite knowing the circumstances that shaped the results, want to sing Hosannas to Decampchairis for his stunning and brave action while simultaneously holding the belief that E-verify won't work - essentially their accolades have the built in makings of the future alibi that will be necessary

IMO 'enlightened self-interest' is just self-interest dressed up in better clothing

I'm sure jamil will be along soon to explain what enlightened self-interest 'really' is and why I'm wrong - although probably without giving any examples of it actually working

    Looking forward to it

I think you're a bit confused. Maybe it's because you changed the subject and the two got conflated, I was talking about DeSantis and the illegal immigrant situation and you tried to change the subject to Trump and Schedule F. I never said anything about it not being something tangible. I'll give Trump credit for that.

You don't want to seem to give credit to DeSantis for doing anything tangible that aligns with his consistant stance on the border issue.

You never presented anything tangible to show that he is or will be soft on that issue. All you presented was speculation. That's what I was talking about.

Would it be in DeSantis's best self- interest with voters to flip on his Illegal immigration/Border stance that he's constantly had? I think not and that's one of the reasons why I believe he won't do it. His 'money men" won't be able to save him if he betrays those voters.

Again, why not both? Are Trump’s multitasking skills lacking? The job of fixing what’s wrong with the CDC isn’t kust firing people because the same pharma money still infects the institutions. Legislature can work on that while the executive branch starts cleaning out the personnel in the DoJ and medical apparatus. One is not a distraction from the other with competent leadership.
Complete minimization of just how bloody the battles for FBI/DOJ will be…

Grown ups would not believe the part about Mexico paying for it. I think that part is just for the smiles it brings. I also think he did as much as possible to get the wall built and most grown ups know exactly why it didn't get finished.
WTF is so far fetched about Mexico ”paying for the wall”? Small thinkers can only imagine TellingMexico to send a check. There are a myriad of ways to get the cash from Mexico in so many avenues if congress was focused on their job and not on impeaching the only guy to come along trying to do something in decades…
