I’m the exception apparently. I have scored some amazing precision/hunting rifles because of that “custom.” You just have to find the ones that are truly gunsmith’ed, and not bubba’d. Also anyone serious will gladly share grouping photos and talk velocity, accuracy, etc and it will be pretty obvious if they don’t know what they’re talking about.

    In the country, hopefully.
    Anything under $600.

Yea, I said it. But I know some of you were thinking it. Some of you are probably higher than that.

You only live once, life is too short for crappy triggers.

Also, don’t mind customized, worked on, whatever. Not bubba’d though. That’s not custom, that’s personalized.

Most of them. Not too many deals to be had in the used market anymore. After about 3 bumps, that ad is history to look at

I have bought a LOT of stuff in the classifieds. ALL sorts of stuff, including a couple of vehicles, electronics, gear, etc. Once in a while some gun stuff. :)

You kinda have to know what you are looking for and not get hung up on somebody's naive attempt to recover their complete investment. Those folks will eventually learn the error of their ways. Pro tip - eventually a lot of those higher priced items get lowered and or bought on offers made. I've bought a few items weeks after the initial add has failed to move the item.

Falling for (or fueling) those blanket statements like "all the blah blahs in the classifieds are over priced," are what run some of our folks off to Armslist, Gunbroker or to only buy retail. :nono:

Well there’s one double that in there now and I’m like ‘that’s seems nice, I wonder if it’s worth it, I don’t have one of those”.
If its the 9mm legion msrp is 1499.00 I believe. Average store price 1200.00 plus tax.
    A MK25 226 sells for 1,100.00 plus tax.
A few months back I bought a MK25 at 98% with box, mags, paperwork and a extra threaded barrel for $700.00 from a member here.

I browse for the stuff I'm into, and like to see what others are asking for items I have. I'll look at old, odd, strange and weird. If you built it I'm not buying it, period. If it's a brand or model that came out in the last 3-4 years I'm probably not interested. Sometimes I'll read an ad just to check out a unique item or see how much they've lowered the price. I'm an "ask what you want for it the first time' guy so I don't understand some of these that start pretty high and then lower it over time.

    Here are my rules.
    No commie guns
Nothing with a picatiny rail (Will consider it, if the rail can be removed, or if its an AR and I can cover up the receiver rail with a detachable carry handle)
Must be able to take a bayonet and a traditional sling if its a rifle or shotgun. (Precision rifles excepted from this)
    No tuperware (Polymer) frame pistols

Consider yourself fortunate then. What you paid for what you got is not the norm. You got a stellar deal. If it was a factory threaded barrel then you got the gun for roughly $575.
