I know I got a bad reputation.
And it isn't just talk talk talk.
Only if the seller isn’t patientI had one seller back out. We made the deal on Sunday or Monday it was going to be Friday evening or Saturday morning before I could meet. Mid week he messaged and said sold to a family member. I was disapointed but ok with that. If I could have meet sooner may have got it. Asking to wait a few days to meet up leads to problems.
I understood that referenceI was gonna buy a sofa off a guy but backed out when I found he had a warrant out for throwing change at cops.
Interested in a used vcr?I was gonna buy a sofa off a guy but backed out when I found he had a warrant out for throwing change at cops.
Me too.I understood that reference
Nice. I used to have one.Interested in a used vcr?
I’ll take it.I have 3 rounds 22 short for sale.
I agree. If they contact you to let you know they are no longer interested and they didn’t just ghost you, that way you can carry on with your business, then at least they gave you that courtesy. They deserve a neutral.I've backed out of a deal after initiating contact with the seller but before we even discussed meeting. If you commit to buy you should buy. The seller could have missed several sales while waiting for payment that never came. I think the review should be neutral since you didn't leave the house but it was an inconvenience. I've had people hold stuff for me and others sell it out from under me. I've also been the guy that benefited from an item being sold out from under someone else, so I have mixed feelings.
The WORST experience was losing an hour and a half of family time waiting for a guy in the Cabela's parking lot. We were both at Cabela's... He was in Hammond and I was in Noblesville. Still not sure how that happened.
Pictures are great, but they don’t always tell the whole story. Even you request as many as you want. The cameras these days, are good at making things look better than what they are.I'm sure that works great, if you are in the city, trading with your nieghbors.
For a lot us, leaving the house for a trade is a fair investment in time and money, regardless of selling or buying. Often both parties travel to meet in the middle.
Looky lue to decide at the meet location, is not a consideration for a lot of us, the rare exception being collectors items to be graded and the like.
Again, this is why pictures are required. Also why more pictures can be supplied when requested, as many of us have done.
.
That’s the truth. Would have been so much easier dating back then with these cameras.Pictures are great, but they don’t always tell the whole story. Even you request as many as you want. The cameras these days, are good at making things look better than what they are.
I shop the same way. I want to make sure I’m getting the best product of the best quality for the best price. But I don’t think I should get a negative if I decided it wasn’t up to my expectations. On the other hand, I wouldn’t tell someone I wanted to buy something if I didn’t have intentions to do so either.I hem and haw A LOT before I buy anything, anywhere, from anyone. I've missed gun deals because I'm researching model #s, variations, replacement parts, sale prices, manufacturers, mags, ammo availability, etc. If there's no repercussion for backing out, I guess i'll just start spamming "I'll take it!" for every listing im mildly interested in, and then back out later if my research gives me reason to do so.

I’m in agreement and lived what you are putting out there. seems like honor and integrity are lost. If a deal is struck, the term “you know how it is” , “the other guy paid more “, “ my wife, bil, cousin or Biden told me…….” Is bull shi*.I always try to get the deal done ASAP. Often the same day or the next.
Not my own experience, but I have read of others having problems when trades had a few days of separation. Life stuff sometimes jumps up and bites plans made. Sometimes legit, sometimes who knows?
Best practice is to get the deal done quick, before wayward brother in law gets wind of the sale and beats you to the seller.
