So Summer in the South will soon be here, I am wanting stick with OWB carry on the weekends. My go to is ordinarily ankle carry but you know that’s not real discrete and well to be honest is really a fashion failure when wearing shorts. Just curious what you may have found that works well shirt wise that Is somewhat fashionable yet offers good concealment ?

Ankle-carry with cargo shorts... just kidding!

I carry pretty much the same all 4 seasons. OWB with a cover shirt. Sometimes Hawaiian shirts, sometimes not as loud. Jeans or cargo shorts depending on the weather.

When you're "INGO middle-aged" you can pull off the look.

I've been known to OC when it's above 90.

I’m with you. Jeans in February, cargo shorts pretty much every other month. Tucked white t-shirt and a lightweight button-up. Polos work but I usually have to buy a size up unless I find something that just fits me well. I’m 5’9, 220 so concealment can be a bit tricky.

IWB and tropical shirt, untucked golf shirt, untucked t-shirt. Rarely pocket carry with a pocket holster depending on the shorts (nothing but the pistol in the pocket). I only owb when going to the range or INGO meets.

First off, I carry 100% of the time. G19/RDS or G45/RDS. There is no "when I carry..."

I always carry IWB, but the right gun/holster/belt rig would likely cover near as well.

I like Duluth clothes for the most part, but Carhart also makes a heavy enough t-shirt to not print so easily. I spend a lot of time out and about in t-shirts and shorts.

Same shorts get a collared shirt for town wear. Even a cheap button down shirt, for town wear, benefits from a dry cleaner shirt service. Couple bucks gets a nice light starch press that prints less than a limp shirt. I don't wear polo's much for this reason. You have to work a lot harder to keep them from printing 100% of the time.

If I have to go deep cover, I pocket carry a G43, in a Desantis pocket holster. at least a couple extra mags in various pockets.

Summer for me I usually rock a under armor under shirt and then an adidas golf polo over top. Same carry gun as always my P365X in a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2

    And that's a Staccato , a much bigger gun than my P365X

Keltec P32 with the little metal belt clip. Goes everywhere, in any attire, even gym shorts (or whatever they call 'em these days). Don't ask where I put the spare mag.

Ahh the perks of being thin. I miss those days.

I’m a fatty and don’t have any problem concealing a gun. Although I will admit that fluffy and IWB doesn’t work as well. I have gained 25 pounds and one waist size since covid and changing jobs 2 years ago. But with the right belt and holster even OWB is no problem with an untucked shirt.

I like polos. The ones with squared off bottoms look nicer and are intended for untucked look. You can also go the route off unbuttoned short sleeve over a tshirt. People make fun of the lightweight Eddie Bauer or Columbia travel vests but they do work.

Belts. We have had that discussion. Holsters OWB go with something that rides high. This might restrict you to a lighter or shorter pistol. But I carry my commander sized 1911 or Walther PPS year round. A Glock 26 or any of the sub 4” 9mms with a proper holster works well as an everyday belt gun.

I carry appendix now. G43x or g19. I'm going to try switching to a g48 once I put some rounds through it and feel comfortable.
I try to dress around my gun and I don't even have to wear baggy clothes to do it. If I wear something that's brightly colored sometimes ill have to get creative but the majority of sheeple aren't looking for guns under clothing.

I carry OWB all year with very few exceptions when pocket carry is required instead. During summer months, I'll go with a T-shirt tucked in under a Hawaiian shirt or similar untucked. Columbia Utilizer shirts get worn a lot in the summer. They are comfortable, conceal well and are cool in the summer heat. They look decent too.

If you want to carry and wear shorts, seems there's a perfect option...
The thigh holster. The ladies figured this one out years ago.

But you can't get away with those tight bicycle shorts.

OWB concealed only here. I rarely wear anything tucked in. If I am wearing two layers, the first layer gets tucked in. The next layer is untucked.

If it's hot enough to just wear a t-shirt, it is left untucked.

Because public buildings are so air conditioned during the hot months, it is rare for me to just have a t-shirt on.

I can take a lot of heat, not as much cold. Could be due to my average body temp of 97.5 and low body fat, lol.

All year is a Kramer #5 IWB. SW Pro 3" 1911, LB or Wilson Commander 1911 or 365XL. Works for pants or shorts with untucked button down, polo or t-shirt.

My summer wear is light. I suffer during heat and humidity. So I stick to a LCP with a side clip for attaching to waistband or pocket, or simply pocket carry. No holster or anything to add bulk. I wear linen or upf sun shirts (like Columbia PFG although quality on those suck anymore so I've been getting PataGucci, Filson, and such lately) unbuttoned over a simple t shirt which would mostly cover OWB carry and serve you well in the sun.

OWB and open carry around the farm. I started last year carrying a short sleeved button up shirt in the truck, if I have to go after parts or the wife wants to go to town I just throw on that shirt untucked and unbuttoned.
