    Just remember: It's white/orange, orange/white, white/green, blue/white, white/blue, green/white, white/brown, brown/white.

    :):
Funny thing, back in the day when I did cabling, I was on a job so long that one morning my phone rang and I woke from a DEEP sleep and this is how I answered the phone: "Orangewhite orange, Greenwhite Green, oh. Sorry. Hello?" I had been terminating so much cat5 the last 3 days that I awoke dreaming about it. :):

Wait, "Orangewhite orange, Greenwhite Green..."? Isn't the proper sequence "Orangewhite orange, Greenwhite, Blue Bluewhite, Green, Brownwhite Brown?" Did that change at some point, or did they just do things weird where I worked? (Or I could be misremembering...)

You are correct. Typo/rush. and if you swap green and orange you go either to 568A standard if done on both ends, or a crossover if just one end is done.

I think I noticed for a brief period in the last couple of days a feature popped up on INGO where it would show "similar threads" at the bottom of whatever thread you were looking at. They were not very similar at all, usually a random collection of extremely old threads. It seems to be gone now, but I wonder if that was prompting so many ancient thread revivals?
To be fair, I'm not sure how such an algorithm could even handle "similar threads" when dealing with INGO and how topics go here. Think that would even be a challenge for ChatGPT.

And it showed. The suggested threads were all over the place. I couldnt tell how they were similar.

    Let's see....back in 2008...what was I doing.......? Hmmmm.

Oh...I was a partner at a law firm doing what I'm doing in 2023....different law firm, hopefully I do it better... but other than that. All my kids were elementary age and younger....that's different.

What were YOU doing in 2008 when slacker started his first professional job?

Still does if you start a new thread, at least that’s how I found it last night when I asked about I-pad batteries it brought up a bunch of stuff about battery powered tools. Just click X and post your thread. JMO

I was printing, with real oil-based ink and the associated chemicals. Getting my hands dirty and breathing fumes. I'm a much happier camper in the digital age.

On the Associated-Threads-of-Interest topic, they're on a lot of sites and sometimes helpful. Most of you probably already know that.

2008 I was dealing with trying to merge three companies IT, trying to avoid reporting to the guy in charge of IT at one of the other companies, then later that year dealing with a reverse merger and trying to tie all five companies IT together.

I am no longer there and have been gone from there over a decade now. The companies also no longer exist.

On that day in 2008 I was celebrating with pineapple upside down cake(made with lemon cake,I am not a barbarian who would use vanilla...yellow maybe in a pinch). I even know what I did the day before. It was my daughters bday(not her first lol).

    ....damn....why did I suddenly feel...old.
