Sure, you’ll find a few exceptions to the rule. I don’t know anything about indy politics, but I’ll go out on a limb and say, he’s probably just as useless as the latest chick that Louisville has at the top of the pd.
I'm not sure how the rank and file feel about him honestly. @BehindBlueI's or @Denny347 may be able to shed more light on that. In Indy, the problem doesn't seem to be with the police. The problem is with the prosecutor Mears.

These five black cops beat the **** out of a guy not because they are thugs in uniform, but because they secretly hate themselves.

I would hate to read what the headline would have been if the victim was white.
All five were post-2016 hires. They come from the age of woke hiring practices and anti-racist policing. None of them were grizzled old racists from the before time, they're products of the current ideology.

He's a Chief of a large Metro PD. Some decisions and actions by Chiefs in general are not well received by the rank and file. Doesn't mean those decisions are wrong. Those at the top make decisions for different reasons than the street officers and it is difficult for either side to see eye to eye. Now I will say that I like Chief Taylor. He truly is a nice man and when se says that he prays for us daily, I believe it. The City-County Council has tied his hands on some major decisions so he's not entirely to blame on how the department is ran. We could certainly do a lot worse.

That's good to hear. I will say that from the times I've seen him give interviews or press conferences on tv he does seem to sincerely care about the department and the citizenry. Politics always screws up the best of intentions.

I had said earlier that they were all trained and something still went wrong. Denny pretty much said same thing Dan said in response before this came out.
Exactly. It's like Bongino said. They weren't trained to handle this situation in the manner of which they did so obviously there are other factors in play here. For example, they were not trained to soccer kick someone in the face.

They let base street level instincts take over that ran contrary to any structured disciplined training they may have received. IMO when that happens, they are really no better than the street thug gang mentality.

    That’s encouraging to hear.

There was scuttlebutt on TimCast that Tyre was sleeping with one cop’s wife. But I haven’t seen that elsewhere. It being personal could definitely explain what happened.
