He was fondling a Pietta. It has 3 hammer positions; hammer safety, half cock, and firing position. It won't strike the primer with your finger off the trigger. Unpossible. It will fire if you're gripping the gun with your finger on the trigger. He didn't pull the trigger, he was holding it down.

Obviously he doesn't know what he's doing. That's his negligence. And it resulted in a homicide. And someone was hired to protect the stupid. The ball stops with her so she's on the block. It's a lot of fail in the work place and someone died. I expect a civil suit is waiting to be filed on the back end. That's where the dept to society will be paid, where it should.

All I know is guns don't go off by themselves, and he didn't pull the trigger.
Given the credibility issues of a certain alphabet agency’s I would be hard pressed to believe the results of their testing. Clearly the Gun when off by itself while Mr ***hat was holding it.

Funny how these clowns will profit from something they disdain yet refuse to educate themselves ah the HollyWood Elite!

I think I’ve said this way back when this all started. The blame is on every link in the chain that failed. That’s everyone who handled that firearm from start to finish. If the blame is on the first link in the chain, it’s certainly on the last one.

Thank You. If every single person upstream of Baldwin failed to do things correctly and Baldwin who was the final link in the chain did things right as he was taught to do and did through multiple movies with firearms this would not have happened.

Have to disagree I believe Mr ***Hat was incapable of learning , He clearly has superior intellect and has no need for understanding firearms safety .

Interesting footage of how he draws, finger on the trigger. And police interview of ammunition procurer showing texts from the gun safety expert wanting live ammunition on a previous movie set to play with.

This could shoulder most of the blame on her.

Unless he meant to shoot her, it was an accident. I don't see this as a criminal matter. What does society gain by anyone going to jail for this? It is much more a civil matter in my mind.

Did they ever actually determine how the live round ended up in the gun?
There is a difference between accident and negligence.

Are drunk drivers who kill people an accident or negligence? They didn't intend to kill them, but they're responsible for the deaths.

I think this is all negligent, because of incompetence and ego.

It is not at all uncommon for an armorer to order live ammo. The actor or others may have wanted to go to a range and experience what actually happens when you really fire a live round.
Years ago I went to a range with an armorer and shot vehicles full of holes as requested by the director. I don't know the protocols the armorer used to keep the ammo apart from the stuff to be used on set but he was one of the biggest names in his craft in the country and no live rounds were fired on the set.

Wasn't the armorer for Rust the daughter of the biggest named armorer in Hollywood?

    .
Thell Reed is a legendary armorer, been in the business a long time.

What has happened to the guy who actually brought the gun out to Baldwin, no one is talking about him.

Of course that doesn’t make it not his fault. He can be “right “in his own estimation and be wrong in reality.

This assistant director, David Halls, handed him the gun and proclaimed it was cold. He already has his plea deal in place.

He's also filed a countersuit in the case
