Not too rough in New Castle.Mornin. It’s wicked cold out there folks and the wind makes it downright brutal.
Check out that hammer spur! What makes the 85 different than a 75b with ambi safety?
I’d like to say I work outside, but in reality we have machine or truck cabs we spend time in, as the boss I’m probably 90/10 operating in a cab, but even the worst job is 50/50.I don't think I've ever seen one in that condition before. That's a sweet pistol.
Today the wind got the chill down to my bones. I've got the wood stove burning a little warmer. It died down to a breeze around 1600, but by then I had a chill to my bone. Anyone else work outside all day today? Maybe I'm just getting older and feeling it more nowadays.
Good eye on the 85 I didn’t notice that! Looking closer it has the old 75 style trigger guard (called a pre-B?).Check out that hammer spur!
It’s like the funny Beretta drawing on the no guns signs.
“Good eye” - you’ll poke your eye out with hat thing!Good eye on the 85 I didn’t notice that! Looking closer it has the old 75 style trigger guard (called a pre-B?).
Nope. Friend sitting my patch. Saw a bruiser cruising a bean field w of Richmond this AM. Just S of I70.Ok, I lied. It's freaking freezing. At least I've actually seen some deer to keep the excitement up a bit. Now I just need them a couple hundred yards closer on my side of the line.
Also, I've heard zero shots so far...am I the only one out here freezing my parts off?
I have never owned or fired a BHP or clone. Gun store/show fondled a few. Regret not buying a nice T series about a decade ago.Morning everybody, not CZ but picked this up yesterday. I got tired of waiting for the SA-35 so I had to scratch a BHP itch. I found this Girsan MC-35 on GB for less than 475.00 so I decided to try one out. It's a very faithful repro of the MKIII BHP. Better slide/frame fit than you would find in most Browning's too. I'll shoot it this weekend some time. Typical bad BHP trigger though but that can be tweaked pretty easily. I had a Ritchie Leather holster ready to go for when I found an SA-35 but still waiting.
A strip of leather belt and the appropriate set of pliers.Question… How do I properly remove the thread protector on the barrel? Is there a specific tool that goes with this? I don’t want to use pliers/channel locks and scratch it up. Looks like it has to come off in order to remove the barrel from the slide for cleaning. Thanks.

I think I have a scrap of leather I used for waxing bow strings. I’ll give that a try when I get back home.A strip of leather belt and the appropriate set of pliers.
I have plenty of extra leather belts as they keep shrinking in my closet....
That worked! Thanks!A strip of leather belt and the appropriate set of pliers.
