    A holler in Kentucky
It’s been my experience so far that the people I encourage wearing masks have been polite. Was in the doctors office the other day. Crowded waiting room. Maybe 2 or three people wearing masks. Old couple both had masks. And the guy sitting next to me. We struck up a conversation and no one said anything about masks.
See, I just can’t associate with mask ****s, just can’t do it. I don’t care what their sob story is anymore, I don’t care what their reasoning is, I just don’t care, and I can’t bring myself to be cordial to them. I won’t intentionally be mean to them, but they can just stay the hell away from me and everything will be fine.

The masktards have shown who they are and what they are all about.

    Found the problem.

In Ft. Wayne, I never encountered or saw any such thing.
If you had to visit a hospital during that time and refused to comply, I’m betting you would have encountered some push back.

The case I mentioned was by a male-Karen that couldn’t mind his own business, so it’s a bit different than the example I now give. Noncompliance to policies of hospitals or government buildings would have brought out a different kind of Karen.

I wonder if all the people that wore masks feel shame now or if they still think they were saving the world. Despite all the actual evidence to the contrary.
Based on people I’ve talked to, a great many wore them simply because they didn’t want to rock the boat…or there was a sign. They believed it was an futile but they’d rather give in than have someone say mean things to them.

I'm surprised by how many people I still see wearing them, especially in the grocery stores. The only time I wear one is at my doctor's office because they require it. I still think even that is stupid now.

Maybe that’s what they are claiming now since they are embarrassed. I wish I could go back and have a discussion with the VERY few people that ever said anything to me about not wearing a mask to see how they feel now.

Yeah. I try to note judge on simple appearance but over the months, I’ve found that when I see someone walking around with one of those stupid things on…I can’t help myself.

Elections are coming, so is the new covid.
On the one hand, I can’t believe they think this is a point that will help them with votes. On the other, I think this is some sort of bias on my part hoping enough people have had enough they won’t be convinced to go back.

Then my consuming cynicism kicks in…

Covid covers for all those "volunteers" who harvest the votes of those who are afflicted.

I hear you, and I struggled with the literal disgust I have with “those” kind of people. Then, it occurred to me one day that THEY are the ones that drew a line in the sand, so, **** em.

They aren't doing it because they think the policy will earn them new votes. They do it because they saw how creating an "emergency" in 2020 allowed them to change the rules of how people voted. Mail in ballots, drop boxes and ballot harvesting helped them "win" the election and they are trying to run the same play again.

Why would I refuse to comply? Their business, their rules. How is this hard to understand?

Actually, I'm beginning to understand what might have occurred.

On both sides, people just want(ed) to prove their right. Being gracious makes life a lot more livable.

Yeah I agree it's stupid, but their face, their choice at this point. Maybe they have a compromised immune system or so other reason; or maybe their brain is compromised. Who knows, I don't really care.

If they have a compromised immune system then they likely had it before covid hit, but they weren't wearing masks then. I think the latter is more likely. It does seem to be mostly minorities that are still wearing masks, at least in my area. Not sure why that is.

But yeah, I don't care either. If they don't bother me, I won't bother them.

TBF, there wasn't a nasty virus spreading like wildfire, and wearing a mask pre-pandemic was almost unthinkable in the US.

Maybe. Asian countries are much more open to wearing a mask.

A good posture in many, many cases.
