Maybe she has a fantasy? :dunno:
"Oh my house is just full of fuel filters and drill presses! Sure hope a team of big strong ATF agents doesn't kick my door and detain me! Why, they could do anything!"

I'm sorry. People are dead. I shouldn't laugh. But loony toons mom and women's clothing has sent this mass shooter story careening into the surreal.

If a police report with suicidal thoughts and threatening to kill the whole family does not qualify to "red flag" an ATF 4473 call, what would? :dunno:

    .
You are apparently convoluting two different things. Red Flag laws allow the .gov to take the guns from someone deemed to be dangerous. They do not make it so you cannot buy guns 2 years in the future.

If he had actually tried to kill someone, then maybe he would have been convicted of a crime and been unable to buy guns.

Due process is still a thing, right? And there's the rub. So-called "red flag" laws should be an immediate/urgent and temporary action, to protect someone from acting as a potential threat to self or others, until due process means can be used to determine the veracity of that threat, and the appropriate remedy.

Exactly. So how would you do it?

It looks as if they "red flagged" this kid from his blades? Because of the mental problems of threatening suicide and to kill others?

Then, not too long after, sell him firearms? How does NICS not see this police report?

It's fine to laugh in the face of tragedy. It's not laughing in the faces of the people who died.

About him wearing a dress, it seemed obvious to me it had a purpose. It looked like a planned escape. Dude probably thought he was a ****ing genius. Of course, it actually worked. He was all the way up in Madison before long, but then decided to come back for some reason.

From what i read earlier today the Highland Park police never reported any of this to the state police otherwise the kid may never have been able to get the firearms.

I've seen a bunch of headlines: "He threatened to kill everyone, but was not arrested."

    My question: "arrested for what"?

Right. It might sound good in theory, but the devil's in the details. And at the risk of mixing metaphors: there be dragons.

That is not yellow, nor is it an issued pack used by any US military forces.
Assault packs are used by the U.S. military forces, including the USMC's FILBE which is coyote, but in the sun & salt water could bleach it out to make it appear a shade of "yellow" to someone not looking that hard.

    (I readily admit to speculating)
