If you're invading liberating a country and want it's leadership eliminated, you really don't need proxies, you can just order up an air strike, or get some of your special forces (or spies) up close, or all of the above.

Is this an indication of the impotency of their tier 1 forces? Or are they all worn out from their other adventures in Syria, and elsewhere?

And they've supposedly been infiltrating for weeks, so I'm assuming they're supposed to wait for some grand master stroke, versus picking them off when the opportunity presents itself.

Completely unbiased map. ISW Is a bunch of schollars that study wars. They have been really fair about studying the conflict.

Russians are close to bringing a second pincer into Kyiv, but it wont cut anything off.

Most success has been in the south, with some Russian Marines.

While I can't really say much one way or the other about any biases or lack thereof in the map (because unequivocally accurate information is in short supply), a quick goto on ISW shows a definite neocon bias, something their founder Kimberly Kagan certainly embodies

There seems to be a disturbing idea that having criticized both Obama and Trump's policies makes them unbiased. IMO it just makes them pro-war, as evidenced by the fact their criticism of US involvement in Syria was that we would not commit to military action except in very limited circumstances
