Nope. "Kyiv" is the Anglicized version of the Ukrainian word for the capital city of you know, Ukraine. "Kiev" is Anglicized version of the Russian word. The Rooskies changed the name as part of the Russification during the commies' benevolent subjugation of the area.

Yeah, Ive lost track how many pronuciations there are for that place listening to various news outlets. The count is starting to approach the number of pronouns we are expected to remember. LOL

This has been a problem for years. What is inexcusable is the programmers of phones have not made the videos automatically film in landscape mode while the phone is held vertical.

The Oligarchs are the key to resolving this situation. Make sanctions directly on them that absolutely cripple them financially, don't go after Russia or after Putin at all.

Make the sanctions dependent on Putin remaining in power. So that they are automatically revoked as soon as he is out of the picture.

It's the one clean way to get a hand around putin's throat.
