Which supports that attraction is a complicated thing. It’s just not gonna be an uncomplicated answer no matter how much we might want to malign the newer social institutions that have or are taking over. That’s not an acceptance of those social institutions. It’s an acknowledgment that we can’t just pick one and point fingers at it for causing whatever ills we’ve noticed.
We agree it is complicated. Do you agree that birth control hormone pills can change the preferences and therefore actions of women and men?

WTF does this have to do with acceptance of institutions?

It is like some here cannot fathom that humans react to one another’s pheromones and other scent signals. Which is what birth control pills alter…

Well now you know how out of the loop I am. I quit going before all the bans.
Funny point of it is cigarette smokers will not allow cigars in their bars and cigar bars do not allow cigarette smoking.

As a cigar smoker I get them not wanting to smell the awful smell of burning paper but why the heck cigarette smokers care about the smell of fine tobacco?

My granny used to dip snuff and she was really sloppy with it. Everything around her was brown with snuff and when she spoke it made brown clouds.

My grandpa chewed tobacco. You did not want to be riding in the back seat of the car behind him in the summer when the windows were open!

Ok, now I'm the _second_ INGOer with this family story! It must have been an Appalachian thing...

Indy has several cigar bars and I believe there are other bars that cater to smokers in Indiana…
I'm sitting at Nicky Blain's smoking a $20 cigar. Drinking $15 martinis at a brisk pace because my buddy was buying as birthday gift to me. While living high on his tab, in pedal two IMPD coppers. They looked around, asked the staff if anyone was smoking cigarettes.

That's right. IMPD sent not one, but two bicycle cops to make sure nobody was smoking tobacco, at a tobacco bar. The boys in blue were pleasant. No dominate tone or anything. Just already scarce policing resources being used to make sure that cigarettes weren't being smoked inside a cigar bar.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread topic...

If they found someone smoking a fag, what were they going to do...put it out by having one of Ryan Mears' Sanctuary Criminals publicly urinate on it?

. As far as your cheating thing, I can assure you poor people screw around on poor people and then fight about it with great frequency. There's no lock on infidelty by any socio-economic group.
No one said the poor didn’t cheat. What was said was people who marry for money often cheat because they are not naturally attracted to the spouse with money, same outcome for women on hormone therapy, they marry a guy they are not naturally attracted to, they will be drawn to cheat when the hormones wear off…

    .
The pheromone thing I believe in, as a young man it was hard to explain, but it was just something that was. Now that I'm old, I find myself still sensitive to it and stimulated by it, just not able to do anything about it.;)

Years ago I remember reading about Tony Randall's new 25 year old wife popping out his kids, he was 78. I was impressed.

Common experience is also replete with examples of women marrying manly sporadic-construction-worker type guys, then hauling ass to court when some guy with a steady job and money comes along...leaving Village People Guy in his rumpled bed in Sh!tville.

And more to the sociological point, this tendency was already well-established even back in the days when women still didn't yet completely understand which body orifice they were supposed to stuff the birth control pills up into.

I'm not really sure where this thread is going...but it sure is interesting...:yesway:

Just anecdotal examples here. I’m posting studies. One can disagree but at least they are studies…
