Do people really think that these guys are anywhere near a majority of males in this country? I certainly don't know of many personally. The ones I do know mostly don't want attention from any females.

Lol a bunch of boomers bitching about younger folks. These dumb **** liberal academic women can write whatever they want but at the end of the day they are just bitter and alone. I am under 30 and in my friend group have no idea what that woman is talking about.

This has nothing to do with boomers. Your friend group can’t be extrapolated to represent all Millennials. But, regardless, you could just say she’s full of ****, and make the case using actual data instead of using age bias to make a point.

Millennials seem to think everyone older than them is a Baby Boomer. Just another example of how little they know. :p

So I post about the same phenomenon in other cultures and that's too much of a stretch for the topic but you don't feel the need to call out stripper talk? Come off it.
I would expect that in a country with a one child policy the pill would be common and the effect the same.

I am not the INGO thread monitor.

I notice the linked website seems to be someone who's big-time shilling for Vasectomies. Anybody notice that, and know what it's about? Just curious.

I would be interested to hear their thoughts about the role of the pill in setting off the divorce craze. I seem to recall seeing a statistic that something like 85% of divorces are initiated by women (although married lesbians divorce at a far higher rate than any other category, and there would seemingly be no fear of pregnancy there, but the effect is sociologically linked to obvious female tendencies, so I guess I answered my own question).

I'd love for social researchers to be able to simulate what would have happened if the pill hadn't been invented, but American society forged ahead with outsourcing, de-industrializing the economy, the rise of China and all that. It seems like in the "old days," people had bigger families, but the economy made it possible for middle class people to get by with that. Kids got kicked out of the house at age 18, turned out fine, etc. Now people feel like they need "education" and "smaller families" to deal with the economy. I doubt if this is all due to the pill. We pushed education...and educated women desire different traits in men. Then, either "because of" or "enabled by" that, we sent the factories away.

I really believe the pill is behind all the angst about not enough workers. There are just not as many children being born. In a typical family, if you had 3 kids, one of them would be highly successful, another would do okay and/or marry someone doing just okay, and then you'd have the third who was just a complete handful, always getting in trouble and impulsive and rebellious, unable to focus on studies or anything really, and whose life would turn out to be a never-ending succession of short-term construction projects and stuff like that...no stability. I don't know if that's biology or nurture or what. But with the modern focus on education and small families, people seem determined to have one or two kids, and make sure none of them turn out like Door #3. If they've been successful at that, I wonder to what extent that starves worker-availability from the types of Andy Puzder industries that are constantly beeching they can't find workers?

From a perspective at one edge of social work, women are still laying under large, strong men. But these men are not whole men.

Unfortunately the ones they are getting pregnant by are often little more than overgrown juvenile delinquents in XXL sports jerseys. Men that depend on others far more than their own efforts. There is not a chance for a mature, responsible relationship. There is not a chance of that nights boyfriend providing for her and any offspring. Yet attractive, college educated young women who were raised in good, stable homes are making this choice. They effectively shut off their hopes and dreams. Surely, they understand the sabotage of their futures caring for one, two or more illegitimate children.

I watched a bright attractive girl growing up. She was proud that no one could tell her what to do. She married bum that barely moves from the couch and cares about nothing, including anything that looks like a job.. I think she just thought he would never tell her what to do. She has spent years, working around the clock, trying to keep the bills paid, and take care of the kids. Heartbreaking.

II was assigned to help another woman get signed up for government services . She had 3 little kids. (from three different boyfriends) She was a regular girl, spoke well, grew up in the suburbs, and tried to take good care of the kids. Once she was in a subsidized apartment she found a boyfriend. She told me he made her happy. The man was straight out of prison for the second time. Both times for child molestation. Single mom, 3 small children, moves a child molester into the apartment, what could go wrong? Yet no one has the right to tell her how to live her life.

    Society is committing suicide.

I don't get it (and yes I saw the tweet, but have no idea what it's about or what they're talking about). I assume it's about having sex with a stuffed animal or something?

The younger men would rather play Pokemon Go than attempt to breed with the girls of their age is how I took it. My son sent it to me, laughing his ass off.

Not really related, but one time I drove past where I was going and turned around in the entrance of Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood ...they straight-up have a sign in the entrance saying Pokemon Go is prohibited there? That one floored me, from the standpoint that 1) anyone would do it, and 2) anyone would care.

When I was growing up, the cemetery owner would have been much more concerned with kids screwing there. Boy times have changed...
