We used to have a gaming thread, but since the system changed it went deep in the wormhole. GPIA used to post updates on what was happening, and I don’t pay that much attention so it was nice having the updates and cliff notes here to read and talk about, along with what we’re playing.

I only usually play a night or so a week if I’m lucky. Sometimes a couple weeks will go by and I won’t turn it on other than to use Netflix or something. Only games I’ve been playing is Red dead 2 on Xbox and God of War on ps4. I jump over to Spider-Man occasionally but rdr is my go to when I can.

    Any gamers left here? Lol

I play fallout 4 on xbox once in a great while and whip on the oldest nephew in Mario Cart on the switch from time to time. I haven’t really gamed hard since i pretty much beat fallout 4.
I’ve never played fallout cause it looked like the customization and base building was pretty in depth, so not having much time to play anymore I figured I’d never get to completely get the hang of it.

I did try mario cart online a while back. Got my pride hurt.

I have a friend that begs me to play farming simulator with him. I played it a couple times and all you do is plow fields and plant corn. No thanks.

Waiting for Halo Infinite later this year.

Don't play online anymore. Just campaign.

After the first couple of COD games the FPS genre got way too complicated. Played Doom, Unreal Tournament, etc way back. Then the Halo series. Some Bioshock, and stuff like that.

Played through Jedi Fallen Order when it came out.

I like a game with some story to it, that has some settings on difficulty that you allow someone who no longer has cat like reflexes to finish it out.

If you play read dead 2 fallout would be a breeze to figure out. The customization is only as in depth as you make it. That said you can make some pretty sweet civilizations.

I dont have the time to get good enough at anything to play online. Im just barley good enough to whip a 7 year old lol.

Yup. This is me. I used to love battlefield and COD but now they’re kinda ridiculous. Only time i play anything online is when a friend is playing a game I like, which isn’t often we’re on at the same time anymore.

I’ll give it a shot. It’s probably in the $20 bin by now.

Speaking of civilizations, when I had my tonsillectomy a couple years ago I was off work and on pain pills for 2 weeks. I played tropico (lol) and a hunting game for the entire first week. It was addictive.

I used to play modern warefare 2, whatever cod was the first zombies, forza 3?, and GTA 4 online and was pretty competitive. Then i turned 15 and got a job and realized money was more fun that xbox lol. Deadrising 1&2 are pretty entertaining to this day lol. Pretty much run around a mall and kill zombies with anything any everything.

Just looked up Tropico. Looks like a Civilization rip off lol

I think black ops was the first cod with zombies but I may be wrong. I have forza but never been a fan. I do occasionally get on iracing on the pc, but i moved all the pc stuff and haven’t hooked it back up. Never played gta 4 online, heard it sucked. Only games I’ll play online are red dead gta 5 (which got stupid so I don’t anymore) and the old battlefield games. Getting your ass kicked by a 12 year old when I actually get to play sucks.

If you're looking for top tier race sim stuff, I'd recommend assetto corsa.

I like the way iracing is set up with the real name, license and irating, and accountability for actions. I tried project cars and it was pretty cool but trolls on there. Iracing has em too but they get banned from the entire site pretty quick.

Pc gaming is cool and sucks at the same time. Hackers are a major problem, virtually non existent on consoles. When I was on pc primarily you’d come across them about once a week. But, most games have unlimited FPS, better graphics (depending on pc of course) and a lot more options and control of the experience.

Now I like to sit on the couch while I play.

    SW side of Indy
I used to be a big PC gamer. From my mid 20's to mid 40's I gamed a lot, but now in my mid 50's I've slowed almost to a stop. I used to play FPS games all the time, from the original Doom and Quake games, to Unreal Tournament, FEAR, then the more team based games once those started coming out. The best thing about gaming, back in the day, were LAN parties. I held a few in Indy before I got married and moved to Minnesota, but the biggest and best I went to were there. On the low end we'd get 5 - 6 players and at times we'd have a pretty massive LAN party with up to a couple dozen people. Tons and tons of fun. The social aspect of a LAN party was just as much fun as playing. Chatting with other like minded people, having pizza or whatever food and being amazed at the different things people had done to their gaming rigs. Just a fantastic time. I was part of a group that got together for LAN parties once a month. Online gaming just does not compare. When I moved back to Indy I tried getting together with the group online, but it just wasn't the same and we lost touch. I miss those days.

Nowadays I'm more into RPG's than anything else. I don't play anything else. I'm a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series and love those games and I like the Diablo like action RPG's as well. I don't like party based or turn based RPG's, which is a shame because there seem to be a ton of these type of RPG's on the market, while I'm waiting on the next Elder Scrolls game to be released. I play occasionally. The last game I really, really enjoyed was Grim Dawn. Quality games that I like are few and far between. I'm playing some aRPG right now one or two nights a week and don't even remember the name. It's somewhat fun, but I just can't seem to get into it. The Elder Scrolls games and games like that suck me in and I'll play for hours at a time, but I just haven't found anything that has sucked me in like that in quite a while now.
