I don’t have a problem with gays. I’m not a Christian or religious at all. I don’t think it’s a choice. It’s just what it is. I don’t agree with the title of the thread. But, I do not want the rainbow flag flying at our embassies. The reason has nothing to do with an opinion about gays. No flag other than the US flag belongs flying over our embassies. Period. There is no rational reason to fly it there. There are only ideological reasons and our nation’s government must stay neutral on ideology. Just as it must stay neutral on religion.
    I agree.

ORLY? Now do adultery and pornography.

I think we can agree that we live in a broken world, with flesh that has innate sinful desires.

From one Christian to another, I'd recommend checking out Preston Sprinkle's Center for Faith, Sexuality, and Gender and his podcast Theology in the Raw. He's a firm believer in the historical Christian view of marriage and the belief that homosexuality is a sin. The difference is that he's trying to understand it and help people in their struggles in a way that's not belittling or demeaning.

Wouldn't you agree that the church should be a safe place for people struggling with sin and looking for grace? Is calling someone filthy and immoral and telling them that their human desires are imaginary creating that safe place for trying to find redemption, truth and grace?

You can't just simply tell someone, "The Bible says it's a sin" if they have no respect for the Bible. And without being able to sit and talk, where each person feels respected, can you get to that point.
Of course adultery, pornography, and so much more, are sins! Even things people don`t get up in arms about, like lying, stealing, etc.

As for how the delivery is made, let`s look at this from the Author Himself:

    Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

    Then this from Dictionary.com:

    abomination

    [ uh-bom-uh-ney-shuhn ]

See synonyms for abomination on Thesaurus.com

    noun

anything abominable; anything greatly disliked or abhorred.
intense aversion or loathing; detestation:He regarded lying with abomination.
a vile, shameful, or detestable action, condition, habit, etc.:Spitting in public is an abomination.

And yes, it needs to be made known the Bible says this. The Bible is the Holy Word of God.

I get what you`re saying, but I just can`t accept that it`s right or proper. Truth has to be spoken and it has to be faced.

I present to you an example why saying, "the Bible says..." is not sufficient in all cases, and why the fire and brimstone street preachers are unintentionally hurting the cause of the Gospel.

    Wait - looking at your username, I see you're a self-described hater. :):
Lost people have to be told that fire and brimstone awaits them buddy...

It's not right, it's not proper - we agree.

It's just when and how you speak the truth.

Are you speaking it in order to promote the Gospel and foster repentance, or are you speaking the truth just to speak the truth?

I'm not saying to hide the truth (which many churches now do), or soften it, but speak it in a way that is effective and will be received in love.

Speaking the truth is being an ****hole, huh? I will agree this is the wrong forum though, so I'm out. Move it or delete it if you want to.

Whoa there bucko, you had better get a thicker skin! I see that the abrasions on your posterior are beginning to irritate you (another way of saying you appear to be getting butt burt).
    But that is my opinion.

I couldn`t agree more! Jesus spoke the Truth in LOVE at the well, when He told the woman to go and sin no more.

The Holy Spirit spoke the Truth in LOVE when He said:
    2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The Bible HAS to be quoted as the Source of the Truth, whether that`s to be received or not. The Holy Scriptures ARE Truth. Period. NOTHING else is Truth or can be passed off as Truth. If one will not accept Truth, they will not receive Truth PERIOD. Love is telling the Truth, NOT sparing someone from Truth because it will hurt their feelings.

    WAY outta context buddy...just sayin`...
How is it out of context? We're talking about the same verses of scripture. Doesn't get any more contextual than that. Like Jetta (I think) said, I understand your point of view and the message you're trying to convey, but the delivery needs work.

But I do have to ask, is this the correct forum to even post about that flag at the U.N. in the first place? If you look at that original post, it's totally hater and bashing. But I'm an easier target I suppose.
Are you too damned stupid to grasp that the issue of the thresd is that there is one and only one flag that is to represent the United States?

22 whole posts and you walk into the room throwing bricks.

    Grow up.

Good grief. Jesus said he who is without sin should cast the (literal) first stone. They wanted to kill a woman for having committed adultery. Pointing out, (discerning) sin is NOT casting stones, it IS using the Word to point out Truth. And the "delivery" come straight from Holy Scripture.

As if America`s standing in the world wasn't already low enough...

Surely they won't fly these in Islamic countries.... that would light a few fires.

As to sin there is a lot that will keep you out of heaven.

“14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. Revelation 22 14-15
