If Weld got to jump to Wyoming, Moffet county would be close behind.

Summit and Park County would probably declare themselves sovereign at that point. The world's laws don't really apply in the high country and the folks up there know it.

Wouldn't it be better if the awesome flat part of indiana joined up with the super cool flat part of Illinois and the dirty hillbillies from the southern parts of both states had to somehow make a state and survive on their own? I think that would be the way to go.
Southern IL does have some great towns and people. Grew up there and still have family there. Flatlanders just wouldn't understand. That said, Kentucky does start well before you cross the Ohio River...

Both Kokomo and Wabash have more in common with Kentucky, than they do with Indiana.

In "Most Likely to Secede," Rob Williams introduces Vermont's secession movement. Mr. Williams writes that "the US is no longer a self-governing republic responsive to the needs of its citizens but an uncontrollable Empire governed by an unholy alliance of corporations and the federal government..."

All of the essays discuss various aspects of the growing federal government and generally conclude that secession is a real check on central power. The word "secession" is rare in modern American political discourse and usually scorned when mentioned, but one point from Prof. DeRosa's essay should give pause to the scorners: it's no coincidence that Lincoln secured central government subsidy to the greatest corporate interest in America in 1862, after effective opposition to a centralized corporatist state left the federal government.

    Could be anywhere
If you're going to change the state boundary lines why not rethink the county lines too. Just take a look at the voting map and you can cut out the blue dots and make them their own state...maybe named Hell. The rest of the red map will do just fine without them and they will become a rendition on Escape from NY in short order.

We'll definitely be needing some border walls though.

Everybody should study and then visit DC, paying attention to the symbols, the markings, the details, the messages.

Heard that congress was trying to put through legislation to remove districting from the hands of the states. Hell is probably the intent.

That would not be fair to the state counties outside of cook & dupage.

I think cook, dupage and lake counties become one state and we combine the rest of Illinois and Indiana into another state.
Can we request that our alien overlords nuke Springfield, IL? One state capitol is enough for this proposed superstate.

We would definitely have some major renovation that takes place. We can support this renovation by putting together a new TV show, instead of "This Old House" we call it "This Old Springfield". We can legally evict the current occupiers and renovate the deplorable buildings.

While were cleaning things up, we elect a better governor.

Sounds like problem with hillbillies? Hmmm you might be chatting with one. Just saying
I'd say that in today's bs environment that using the descriptor "hillbillies" is no different than using the N word. The Webster dictionary did define a hillbilly as a Michigan dirt farmer, I wear it proudly.
