I'd say that in today's bs environment that using the descriptor "hillbillies" is no different than using the N word. The Webster dictionary did define a hillbilly as a Michigan dirt farmer, I wear it proudly.
My prefered self-label, in relation to my cultural heritage is "Appalacian porch honkey".

The term "Hillbilly" is for those uppity folks in Michigan.

Both are only gas tank away from the motherland...
Yup. Thats what we see where I grew up. The huge blue collar migration north of the river. The place was the grand experiment called Eagledale. West Indy directly east of the 500.
It was re-named Eagle-Tucky for obvious reasons.
What a grand place to grow up.

Same thing happened in greater Dayton. Some of Mom's family moved there during WWII to work in the factories. All of them went back to Frenchburg, Ky by the end of the 70's.

All of this discussion about Kentucky is making me anxious for my annual trek down for turkey hunting.

I'd rather spend six months with hillbillies in KY than six hours with metrosexual, leftist dipshits who believe meat comes from grocery stores, top knots are stylish and words are violence.

I was actually called a barbaric cave dweller not long ago. By a dip **** in skinny jeans, black fingernail polish, under eye shadow and a bun on top of his skinny head.
My reaction surprised even me. I let him walk away under his own power. Its a waste of energy to even attempt to confront these human turd sticks.

    Peru
I will be in Peru today to ride the Nickelplate Trail. Round trip to Denver and back, with the trike club.

I agree, Kokomo is becoming more like Chicago.
Peru is getting its taste of Chicago too. Seems to be an influx of folks hiding from something
