The Dems want to take my guns (old white guy and legal) rather than address the real problem.
I'm sure I'll be called racist for this post but I didn't write the article. I also posted in the Political forum because.....you know.....

The analysis, titled "A Public Health Crisis in the Making," found that although Black men and boys ages 15 to 34 make up just 2% of the nation's population, they were among 37% of gun homicides that year.

Sixty percent of all firearm deaths in 2019 were suicides. In total, 39,707 people died from gun violence that year.

You can see how these numbers of "gun violence" are driven up artificially.
Suicide is not gun violence any more than suicide by overdose is pill violence, suicide by hanging is rope violence, etc.
Same mentality as: Guy dies of heart attack but they found covid in his system during the autopsy = died of covid.

    Still they come after us.......

"In the 13 states with the fewest restrictions on gun ownership, 40 percent of inmates illegally obtained the gun they used, Webster said. Only about 13 percent purchased the gun from a store or pawn shop.

In the other 37 states, including New York state, 60 percent of inmates illegally procured the gun they used. "

The left is well beyond reason in many regards but none more than this issue. The truth does not matter, they want power and will literally justify anything to get their way. The private ownership of firearms is the only significant remaining roadblock and they'll never stop trying.

Unfortunately I don't think it's contained to just the left. I think a large chunk of government always wants more power, and a large chunk of the population apparently want them to have it also. The pool of people fighting for our rights and a government held accountable appears to be dwindling at an alarming pace.

You're not racist, you're just happy to accept things as they are presented; and not delve further. But here's a simple question to make sure you're not a racist. Do you think that the genetics that lead one to have dark skin is the primary factor as to why those homicide rates are so high? If not, then what other factors can you think of that might come into play?

And that my friend is the result of over 50 years of well done propaganda and subversion starting with our enemies, who bred domestic enemies of the Constitution in our educational institutions and Entertainment industry. Which went on to be propelled to supersonic velocity by big tech and social media beginning in the 2000s.

Your assessment, unfortunately, is almost certainly correct. There are not enough citizens left who actually have read the Constitution and it's contemporary works and understand the content, the context, and the ideology which is the foundation of this nation to carry it forward.

Reagan's quote regarding freedom being one generation away from extinction is proving to be all too true. Dealing with my own children and their friends I am struck what a small minority have any concept of what this nation is or what it has done. They have been taught through their education, the media, and the propaganda tool they all carry in their hand that there is nothing special or worthwhile about the United States of America.

And to be clear, my wife and I sacrificed to raise our children in a community which we believed would provide them with the best public education available. they were surrounded by friends whose families were largely more affluent than ours. From a early age I tried to teach the uniqueness of America. How the United States differed from other countries with a guarantee of rights to the citizens which were intended to hold the government at bay. My children have the opportunity to travel outside of the country. They knew that I had traveled to places in the world which were not very nice. Yet the propaganda overwhelmed anything that my wife or I tried to accomplish in raising our children.

I now have no illusion that my children are in any way unique. Having the opportunity to listen to groups of them speak on political subjects as young adults is quite frankly terrifying. There are maybe 10 to 20% who have any reasonable degree of knowledge of our nation's ideology and support it. Most only talk in SJW terms not comprehending that they are the enemy that their propagandist speak of. They are almost all Snow White, above middle class, and with every social opportunity having been provided to them. The best schools, expensive competitive sports, travel, and connections.

I have become increasingly pessimistic about our future. I wonder why?

Wouldn't it be nice if that article had delved into that? They make lots of comments about how many blacks died, but nothing about why. Right in the middle of it is a link to an article on Ahmaud Arbery. Sure seems like they are trying to guide a narrative.

Other factors, Gangs, Drugs, a gang culture with little respect for life, lack of perceived opportunity

The color of one's skin is not a factor in my mind. The fact those numbers are staggering and damn little is being done about it is a problem as I see it. The left wants control however they can get it. Is it a break-down of the family that has led to this? If so what is being done about it? A little research on Nigerian-Americans will reveal that skin color has very little to do with success.

IS it a breakdown of the family? IS it access to opportunity? Is it laziness? Is it simply bad luck? You tell me.

The article basically claims that gun violence is a public health crises much like a disease that effects young black males in higher numbers.

That's why the CDC compiles data and treats it like a disease. Gun grabbers also view it as a public health issue.

I'm more focused on the "who." Im out of the range of ages given, but when I was in that sample group, I can assure you a white kid living off of post road or any other "rough area," would have been several orders of magnitude at higher risk than me.

Gun control is just another politically correct term for subjugation and internment of a country. They are fools if they think people don't understand that their goal is to make sure people can not fight back against tyranny.. its a dead give away that they have some pretty devastating plans for humanity if they are trying to remove their means for survival and self preservation.. its not rocket science
