It doesn't have to be intentional. If a person causes harm wrecklessly or even accidentally, that person still bears some degree of responsibility for the harm done.
This is the most ludicrous line of thinking that has been expressed by some during this situation. Breathing is not causing harm of any kind. This line of thinking, criminalizing and placing liability on a normal human function is beyond all reason. The slippery slope here falls all the way to the bottom.

There's been liability in a "normal human function" done in a manner that endangers others for a long time. Would you claim it's not a problem for someone to take a :poop: into your drinking water supply? That's also a normal human function.

Everyone should do their best to keep their germs to themselves. Staying physically distanced seems to work best. In situations where that's not feasible, wearing a mask to contain exhaled respiratory droplets is a rather unobtrusive mitigation effort for most people.

Here’s the thing though, it’s a fact that masks do not stop respiratory aerosol droplets, they only stop spittle.

Watch the vaping doctor videos and see how many “droplets“ go right through and around masks. Those are the droplets that carry the virus too.

trying to stop particles of that size with a cloth mask is like trying to contain mice chipmunks and squirrels with a regular backyard chain link fence, they are small enough to go right through and around.

If a person is in a place where he has a right to be, doing something he has a right to do, then he should have an expectation that others will take reasonable precautions to avoid causing him harm.
Those "others" enjoy the presumption of innocence, which includes the presumption that they are not causing harm.

If you claim otherwise, then the burden of proof is on you to prove the harm they are causing.

Saying someone who is otherwise healthy and not symptomatic needs to wear a mask because they might be carrying a virus is more or less equivalent to police claiming that they need to check for an LTCH for someone carrying a firearm because that person might be a felon in possession.

Comparing respiration with defecation is a straw man of Moms Demand Action magnitude.

I'm one of those who knows that Americans sheepishly going along with wearing masks has been a huge mistake but I also know that the masks catch some of what sprays out of our faces, and some is better than nothing. Well, except for the fact that "just say no" is the only way that we could have prevented having our country destroyed. But that's all water under the bridge now and why anyone would want to argue over the efficacy of various masks and the ways people wear them... it's utterly irrelevant to today's problems.

I thought leftys were good with deification where ever one was including public sidewalks.

Chip said it way better than I could...

Sad thing is our society has made so much so safe, most of the young cannot countenance risk...

Do we as of yet even have any definitive metrics to work towards for lifting this mask nonsense?

I’ll ask again, since you continue to ignore my question. The flu is deadly to some. Did you wear a mask every flu season to prevent from harming others, or did you just recently begin to care?

I think the better question would be "will you" not "did you"

That allows for education to change the mind.

Kinda like if someone starts carrying a gun. I wouldn't fault them for all the years of not carrying I would congratulate them on becoming educated and the start that has been made.

I work with way too many people that believe coming into work sick is a sign of manliness. Then they will use sick days as vacation because they don't want to lose the benefit. :ugh:

Before we all start wearing masks, why not just use sick days? I hope this whole thing will make people just stay home more if they are sick.
