This is my safe space to ask questions outside the context of a political discussion! I am trying to ask these questions as nonconfrontational as possible but give enough background for why I ask them. It's a fine line! I am hoping we can agree on the background and focus on the questions but if the background info is REALLY way off in your opinion, let me know.

QUESTION 1: I hear RINO a lot when discussing the Republican party. One thing I found confusing about Trump was his hiring and firing.

As the Republican party stands today, are there any Republican politicians that people formerly known as Trump Supporters believe represents them? Why?
Was anyone considered loyal during his entire term (I would exclude family members)?

Trump's gone. Time to move on, IMHO.
    Totally agree.

However, I will attempt to explain my thinking. ( I hit post by accident)

President Trump was a RINO. He was not a conscientious conservative. He was and is on a journey (As we all are).

I BELIEVE he actually believes in America. He made certain campaign promises which (unlike politicians, which he is not) he fought to keep until the day he left office.

He made many mistakes, both politically and policy wise.

He was hounded by the Media, Democrats and many Republicans, from day of his campaign for President. The media fawned over him and gave him billions in free press during the primaries, in order to make him the candidate (because, they did not believe he could beat Mrs. Clinton) and turned on him as soon as he was declared the candidate.

As for who was loyal, I have no idea what is in the heart of man.

I do think that the Federal Government is a SWAMP that will not ever be drained.

Why are we still discussing Trump? How many threads did we have about Obama after he left office? Former presidents are inconsequential.

Seriously Foz, do you not see this as a bit obsessive? Is everyone who voted for and supported Trump's efforts to set things straight going to be referred to as a Trump supporter for life?

Well, I think people want to see obsession so they can discount the thread. I can title it something else, but if people think its a thread about the last 4 years based on the question, then they are just gonna hate on it anyway. It was a question about the future, not the past. Honestly, its seems a lot like snowflake culture, get hung up on splinters to ignore the log.

I never realized being a Trump supporter was a perjorative. What would all the former Trump supporters like to be called now?

I was a conservative before Trump, during Trump and remain a conservative today.

If you want a legitimate political discussion about the future you aren't going to get it wrapping everything around Trump.
    Ok.....

As the Republican party stands today, are there any Republican politicians that you believe represents you? Why?

Foz, my question is where are you coming from?

This seems like a trolling expedition.

    No.

The reasons are many and confusing but we are no longer worked for. We are sheep to be fleeced. By both party's. We have enough laws. Actually to damned many. Those turds up in the sausage factory are loosing relevance as to the peoples work. They exist only to fleece and redistribute to those that get them elected. And to those that kick back to them and the party.

Spend an entire session gleaning the books of irrelevant laws. Close the wasteful programs that only benefit a hand chosen few. Stop buying votes with our tax dollars. Stop any and all moneys going off shore. Period. Just stop. Then re-evaluate who we are actually helping. Term limits for every elected official period. Close down the alphabet agency's and re-evaluate their actual worth past generating revenue and writing law outside the system that was put in place to do so. Limit the POTUS ability to EO his way into power.

This is such a readers digest list.

That's an ambitious path forward. Not sure how to do that in one term!

Sometimes, I wonder if it's because we want so much to change that we feel helpless to change anything?

INGO should be United in our love for FREEDOM, AMERICA, Sand The RULE of LAW, respective of any politician.

Biden Harris and the dems are anti-all of these.

    Some Republicans are also.

You are just stirring a pot to create discord.

You asked “why are we discussing Trump?” Well, it does not seem we can discuss Biden.... well, let me amend that. It seem we can discuss Biden, but only to disparage him. If a member, who voted for him, wants to discuss to positives of Biden, whether it’s agreed with or not, that is verboten...and considered “trolling.” That seems to be the gist of it at least to me.

All of this took decades to happen and is the reasons we are in this state of affairs'. Unless we wipe it clean it will never ever change.
