This thread is going about what I expected. Haha!

Today was a very good day for me. I watched the Inauguration, thought Lady Gaga just slayed, found President Biden's speech to be excellent, and Amanda Gordon's poem hit me in the feels.

I know some of you are not feeling the same way today and I wish there was something I could do to ease that. I hope, in the next 4 years, that, as a country, we become more united and find strength, love, and compassion in our commonalities.
I think a dangerous precedent was set by how the left (which you are obviously one of) treated a president the last four years. There will be no unity. We may not have the media to help us badmouth whoever is in charge, but I imagine people will find a way to make their dissatisfaction known. I’m sure many will be more prudent with their spending, for example.

"(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."

Is being "no fan of socialism" equivalent to an instance of extreme danger to life or property?

All due respect Ms. Pink Snappy Dragon, but are our firearms not property that the left has promised will be in extreme danger?

not trying to tick anyone off here, believe me when I say I have great respect for the flag when they become tattered and worn I take it to the VFW so they can dispose of it properly, sorry if I offended anyone.
You are literally violating the flag code that deals with respect for the flag. Your feelings being hurt about politics is not a case of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. Just go ahead and burn it if it means nothing more to you than a convenient symbol for your vulgar display of dramatic virtue signalling. Men have fought and died for that flag, I would hope you would show it the proper respect due.

When Obama became president the place was full of upside down flag avatars.

To me it means you need help. Like now I need to stop what im doing and help. Not to say you are unhappy with the current political leadership.

I see your point, but I interpret it to mean a dire and immediate danger rather than the possibility that something bad may happen.

Edited to add: As Kickbacked said. That you are in immediate need of assistance.

As if people aren’t on edge enough already, on my way to work this morning, I saw three Canadian Pacific locomotives in the rail yard just off I65 in Clarksville! What the hell is up with that??

They probably were asking for asylum with all the rumors of Chinese soldiers mustering in Canada.

I'd consider China taking over the United States to be a fitting situation to fly the flag upside down.

Since we just witnessed that happen today, I think your hyperbolic rhetoric is silly.

Yeah, I always found that very disrespectful to the flag and what it stands for.
That gesture is used when lives are in danger. It's not meant to be used when feelings are bruised.

Americans soldiers serving in Afghanistan proudly display the American flag correctly.
They get hit with mortar rounds at night and still don't feel the need to fly the flag upside down.

The flag upside down is a distress signal, if you use it because your guy lost the election then it becomes meaningless.

It's as silly as painting a giant SOS sign on your roof because your girlfriend left you.

The US flag doesn't represent its owner's feelings.

    The country is fine.

    You're fine.

Fly your fly properly and with pride. :patriot:

I don't normally link to CNN, but here's what Biden plans for the immediate future. One interesting action is to make sure illegals are counted on the census for apportionment tallies of Congress critters. Isn't that lovely, not legal to vote, but you must be represented!

Also, this quote from the article is ironic in that his plan was shared with administration allies AND CNN.
"He plans to follow Inauguration Day by centering each day of January on a specific theme, according to a draft of a calendar document sent to administration allies and viewed by CNN."

    Anyhow, here's the article: https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/20/politics/executive-actions-biden/index.html

What commonalities? Biden has already declared his opposition to everything I value with no room for compromise. He has declared that his policies will be shaped around identity politics in such a way that I am preemptively excluded as a citizen aside from his declared intentions of unconstitutional control.

I don't understand why you would say what you did. It may sound nice but Biden has already declared that it damn well isn't happening.
