I will continue to do what I have always done with Amazon and make them lose money by maintaining me as a Prime customer.

Sure thing... Ship me that $.75 item, for free, by tomorrow. Even better, ship me that $0.50 item, but take your time doing and I'll go ahead and take that $1 digital download credit off your hands.

    I do this multiple times per week. 261 orders in 2020. 185 in 2019. 263 in 2018.

If they want to to be assholes, I'll make them pay for it.
And return items from time to time, if you have a free drop off. I visit Purdue’s Amazon facility regularly.

I've got a stack of Amazon returns sitting next to me right now, ready to go. Just gotta drop them of at the UPS store and help keep my local community working too!

Occasionally if they screw up bad enough, I'll chat with customer support and make them give me a $10 courtesy credit too. As I said above, I do a lot of business with Amazon!

I bought my new TV via Amazon for the lowest price available anywhere in the world and they paid to ship it for free... at 130lbs. Shortly after that they screwed up a bunch of things and I ended up getting about $150 back across the board because I am such a valued customer.

    :spend: chumps! :)

Because they usually have a way better selection, better prices (usually), and are generally paying me to take it by the time its all said and done. I can't get in the car and go get anything in under 45 minutes, plus my expenses to do so. I'll let them pay for that time for me.

Plus, Prime streaming is my only paid entertainment source and that is worth something on its own.

Anyhow, that's my logic. Make it cost them money to keep me as a customer while I enjoy all of the benefits anyhow.

Since I'm 30 mins. from a Walmart and further from Sam's/Costco I'm keeping it for my benefit. In a couple of years when gasoline is $6.00 a gallon it will be even better.

Amazon has become the Sears catalog of the 21st century. On steroids, with an attitude. And without a Montgomery Wards to counterbalance them.

For the young 'uns, Sears operated a massive mail-order company before Al Gore invented the internet. People ordered tons of stuff from Sears and were happy to do so, although practically none of it was produced in third world sweat shops.

I've noticed on some items, especially the cheaper ones, Amazon does not want it back. They will give you the credit and tell you to keep the item anyway.

    Your point...?
The point, that apparently you didn't read, was...

Walmart is a charter member of the Responsible Firearms Retailer Partnership, organized by Walmart and Everytown for Gun Safety.
So there you have it. Walmart has partnered with Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown anti-gun operation in an effort to strip law-abiding Americans of their right to purchase, keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and their families.

    ......................................

So, what is WalMart telling Americans? It is saying it is now in partnership with the gun control fanatic – Michael Bloomberg – and the various corporate shells that he apparently creates to hide his participation in the gun control and gun abatement movement from the public.

WalMart announced on September 3, 2019, an expansion of its anti-gun policies that it has apparently partnered with Michael Bloomberg’s corporate shells to fashion and continuously evolve in an effort to make it harder for Americans to own firearms and acquire ammunition.

    .......................................

Walmart is partnered with the largest anti-gun organization in the country. Every dime you spend there, a portion goes to supporting this terrible anti-2A group that strives to have NO GUNS IN AMERICA.

It doesn't matter what kind of scheme you think you might have cooked up to justify funding the anti-gunners. Every time you justify pro-gun folks spending their money at Walmart it promotes furthering the anti-gun cause.

It doesn't matter that you believe you are costing Walmart money. Your justification (and speaking of it) leads to more traffic and sales for the anti-gun Walmart.

The only stuff I buy from Amazon is stuff i can't find locally. Mostly cooking and sewing stuff for the wife. Sometimes I really wish her iPhone 5 would just die but then she would have to have the new iPhone (whatever # it is now) and that is expensive!

It's pretty easy to do this with most large businesses that you don't like. ex. If you have to eat fast food, order sandwiches only and only off of the value menu. Those are all big loss leaders. Skip the drink and fries and they're paying you for the meal.

Walmart, Sam's, Costco, etc make almost no money off of groceries. As long as you don't buy merchandise the odds are good that you're hurting them by shopping there. I imagine Kroger is the same way. Avoid merchandise and vices (sugar, booze, tobacco, etc) in their stores and they might break even on you, but I doubt it.

I long ago found Sam's/Wallmart to be the lesser of the evils as far as social policy so I really don't mind getting high mark-up items there when no other better choices are out there.
I generally live this way anyway, because I'm cheap, not out of any specific political motive. That said, my wife probably cancels me out on a lot of this. If I can do all of the above and drop a coupon on top of it I'll do it.

My motivation is to gain as much of what I consider value for my $.

On the other hand, I try and not be that way with truly small, privately held businesses, if their service levels are better than big box. My wife runs a small business and I know how much overhead, etc there is even in a small business if you are doing things legit.

That said, I have stayed away from Walmart for a while now, just because there are better options out there for my $ and their overall service is lacking.

This is why I love INGO (one reason anyway), great ideas.

I’ll be actively looking for <$1ish items and ordering. Also looking for alternatives to Amazon.
While it sounds nice, I have more productive things to do with my time....

Although if I put them in my subscribe and save....hmmm

there a plenty of things, that depending on when you order and what it is, that will arrive quicker than if you left the home to go get them.

I agree with you. I don't do much business with actual Walmart, but do a ton of business with Sam's. Sam's customer support actually isn't too bad, at least on the internet sales side.

The point you're missing is you assume my other options aren't also anti-gun... They are, and they got there first. So short of raising my own food in the back yard I'm doing about the best I can.

Seems like the simple approach would be to simply not buy additional things for/on your Kindle or via. Amazon. You don't actually have to delete your account to start a boycott.
    THIS.

I stopped using Amazon before it was cool. And 9x18 is the best.
