BogWalker's girlfriend received an extra credit assignment in a speech class at Ball State today (I don't know the particular course number). It was exclusively for the females in the class and consisted of a survey on their experiences with "mansplaining". The questions were very obviously biased towards a particular conclusion. There was no commensurate extra credit assignment offered to the males in the class.

If BogWalker's girlfriend knows of any men in the class, they can file a complaint with the dean. That should help put the speech teacher down a few pegs.

I'll let her know about that. My brother goes there, and after multiple complaints one of his classes got an educator canned (can't recall if it was a TA or adjunct professor) who was pulling similar stunts. He was assigning very biased SJW writing prompts that were in no way relevant to the course material.

I don't actually get up there much, but if I'm gonna be in the area I'll shoot you a message.

I finally got around to watching the video. And it's even crazier than that. This student was trying to make the case that "black magic" is as acceptable to explain the world around us as is Newtonian physics. She actually said that Newton watched an apple fall and "poof", the theory of gravity and equations were invented to explain it out of nothing. And she said that this was why she did not study science. Well, ya, if you don't understand any of this ****, you should probably not choose math or science in your career path.

No one was allowed to disagree because "this is not an antagonizing space." WTF? She is disagreeing that the knowledge that science has produced is objective. She believes whatever someone wants to believe is the truth. It's okay for her to put forth her disagreements with science, but it's not okay when others disagree with her because that's antagonizing? Disagreement is now antagonizing. Having watched the video in its entirety, I have to say. I feel antagonized.

I also read the article posted on TMS. The author points out the lack of diversity in a one minute trailer, half of which displays graphics without any characters whatsoever. She also gives the disclaimer that she is reserving judgement until more is known about the game, but the title of the article seems awfully judgy to me. But then I'm a white male so I'm the problem, presumably.

On on a side note, I haven't seen much to make me upgrade from a PS3 to a PS4 but this game will probably be the one that convinces me.
