Hillary is distasteful enough to many democrats that Romney might be acceptable this time around. Ryan? Never.

Romney is a mealy mouth loser, I can't believe I voted for him last time; guess I was just sucked into the lesser of two evils game.

Cruz supporters are praying for a contested convention, but the truth is, that the party really doesn't like Cruz, and they will select someone like Romney or Ryan, then everybody loses.

And that's just one part of the overall problem that the Republican party has. I saw a poll that said 1/3 of Republicans say they will either vote for a non-GOP candidate or not vote at all if Trump doesn't win the nomination. And there's a USA Today poll that says ~40% of republicans say they won't vote for Trump if he's the nominee.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'll probably vote for Cruz in the Indiana primary, I've said why. I doubt he'll win the nomination. But either way, I'll make the pragmatic choice in November and go with not-democrat.

If I had the same choice again, I'd make the same choice. Even a mealy-mouthed loser is less evil than Obama turned out to be.

this guy sums it up pretty well for me.

    1. Nope...I'm not a liberal, millennial...none of those things. I think the most important characteristic for a leader is character...that character is the best determinant as to what this person will do. And Trump's character is putrid.
He is a serial cheater. Both on his investors (such as the students at Trump U), and on his wives. Seriously...if you can't respect your marriage vows, how can we expect you to respect ANYTHING?

He is a liar who changes his opinions to whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear...and he doesn't mean any of it.

He is a New York Elitist -- which means he thinks the rubes (such as we) are there to be played, and he goes and sells us out to his "New York Friends" in Wall Street and K street. And laughs all the way to the bank.

He is a bully...who surrounds himself with bullies. He encourages his people to use physical violence on people who disagree with them...he shows no respect for anyone who disagrees with him...because disagreeing with him is the cardinal crime in his book. He bullies old women. He bullies young women. You know, he seems to REALLY like bullying women.

Megyn Kelly, that reporter from Breitbart...

Seriously...if you can stand with a man like that, who has the character of a wife beater...what kind of man are you then? I am trying to avoid being ad-hominem...so forgive me. But the question seems to be a 1200 lb pachyderm in the center of the house.

    2. Global war? Well, I think Obama beat him to it. I don't think Trump is any more likely to cause a global war than Obama already has. Seriously...the ENTIRE MIDDLE EAST appears to be at war...either with internal forces or external. Just how do you screw that one up so badly? You have to do it Obama-style. No...I don't think Trump is more likely to make our international situation any worse than it is right now, as far as "global war" is concerned. I just am pretty sure he won't make it any better. Trump's painful insecurity that leads him to even launch the most petty attacks (and encourage his followers to do the same) over the smallest slights...even the imagined ones...make him way too easy to manipulate. Especially for a master like V. Putin.

    3. "Violence is underrated"? Adolf Hitler, 1934. He also encouraged his followers to attack people who disagreed with them. His followers were known as the Brownshirts. When they were no longer useful, Hitler murdered their leadership and threw the rest in jail...the Night of the Long Knives. Remember...history is not "one darn thing after another", but the same darn thing over and over again. =) I can hear it now..."can't you take a joke? *whine whine*". I don't joke about violence. If you have to use it, use it...but respect it. Know when you have to and when you don't. Seriously...I don't know if this man is a CCW'er...because no responsible CCW'er I know or has even heard of thinks that "violence is underrated"...because any fistfight can escalate and end up with someone in jail and someone dead...over something stupid.

    4. Entrepreneur? There are entrepreneur's who are genuine businessmen. And there are lazy losers who capitalize on their daddy's money and call themselves "entrepreneur's".
    9k=

    *He's* an Entrepreneur too!

I can see how you think that someone who has started a business understands something about how our capitalist system works, and how that is valuable in a leader. I've done that myself...so I guess I am an "entrepreneur" too.

    5. "Anti-establishment?" Uhh...he is a "texting and golfing" buddy of John Boehner. And Nancy Pelosi came to his wedding. And he's "anti-establishment"? Uh...Trump was the one issuing the favors that this man is talking about: "Business gives out favors to politicians, and then they come back a few years later to cash in". Um...Donald Trump outright ADMITTED he is the one giving out favors. Why? So that when he wants something, he gets it. That was Republican Debate #1 with Fox News. This is why he is John Boehner's Texting and Golfing buddy.

Seriously...what are you gonna do when he buddies up to the establishment republicans and democrats, and bans private ownership of ARs and AKs? What if he wants to pass mandatory gun registration...like they have in New York?

“I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s internet technology we should be able to tell within 72 hours if a potential gun owner has a record.” Donald Trump The America We Deserve pub 2000.

He is "establishment"...he is just the one giving out the money. So...don't say you're not with the establishment if you support trump. You are supporting Boehner's golf buddy. Do you golf? I don't. I think it's what liberals do to pretend they're important, or to kiss up to people they think are more important than they are. I prefer the shooting sports. It's more real.

    6. "Anti-immigration"? I don't see why just being "anti-immigration" is a plus. I can see believing in slowing immigration because of security concerns. I can see being anti-illegal immigration because we need to enforce our laws and enforce security. But being anti-immigration just to be anti-immigration on its face seems to not only be deleterious, but outright bigoted. "Don't let THOSE PEOPLE come over here!" Just so you know...that's what New Yorkers and Californians say about Hoosiers.

Besides...Donald Trump doesn't actually believe any of that. That's just what he tells the rubes who support him. What he really thinks? What he tells the "special, important people"?

"Everything is negotiable" is what he told New York Times.

“If it gets a little boring, if I see people starting to sort of, maybe thinking about leaving, I can sort of tell the audience, I just say, ‘We will build the wall!’ and they go nuts,” he told the Times’ editorial board.

When it comes to things like immigration, building the wall...you know he's just playing you for your vote, right? Donald Trump Admits He Says Horrible Things Just To Keep People Interested In Him

    7. China is third world? Ok. They have a 9 trillion dollar GDP. The largest deficit trading partner for the US. They are cutting edge in drone technology, anti-stealth technology, LRASM technology... And we're just gonna sit here and deride them as "third world" and not acknowledge the real threat they pose? You can just continue to insult people and fail to see what is really going on, but you can't deal with an enemy if you fail to see what they really are. If you know yourself or your enemy, but not both, you will lose as many engagements as you win. If you know neither yourself or your enemy, failure is assured. If you know yourself and your enemy, you can engage in a thousand battles without fear of defeat. Sun-Tzu. Oh yeah...he was chinese. Maybe this gentleman has something to learn.

    8. Anti-Jihad -- I think all the republican candidates are anti-islamofacist. They are ALL (well, I don't know about Kasich) against people who want to kill other people for the sake of Islam. Doesn't make Trump specifically qualified. What is he going to DO about it? Oh, I know..."I have a plan, it's a good plan, many people have seen it and like it, and you will like it too. I came up with it with my very good brain and I will beat ISIL BIGLY!!!!" Yeah...good plan.

How many American servicemen will leave their families bereaved because you can't even be bothered to spend FIVE MINUTES coming up with a better plan, Mr. Trump? Who are the military and geopolitical experts you will consult? What technologies will you focus on? What strategy will you use? How are you going to counter the Iranian LRASM threat to our carriers? The threat from Russian LRASMs? What about Iran? Turkey? Russia? What about our other enemies in the region using ISIL as a proxy? Yeah...you will win bigly all right.

    9. Ben Shapiro? This gentleman cites Ben Shapiro to prove his point about 1/4 muslims being violent. I agree with Ben Shapiro and this gentleman, by extension.

Ben Shapiro is intelligent, articulate, insightful, principled, courageous, and hard-nosed. I respect him very much.

Here are some other things Ben has said:

    http://www.dailywire.com/news/3896/shapiro-i-will-never-vote-donald-trump-heres-why-ben-shapiro

Know what else Ben Shapiro says about Trump? He says Trump "dusts himself with cheetoes before every TV appearance" (http://www.dailywire.com/news/5241/shapiro-kelly-file-trump-dusts-his-face-cheetos-tv-hank-berrien), and states that Donald Trump is the Establishment. 5 Signs Donald Trump IS The Establishment...From The Last 24 Hours Alone | Daily Wire

    10. "Anti-whining"? No...he is "the most fabulous whiner" by his own proud proclamation: Donald Trump: 'I am the most fabulous whiner' - Business Insider

I think after listening to this gentleman, it seems that he personally supports certain ideas (anti-immigration, anti-whining, anti-grievance), most of which aren't necessarily bad things in themselves, and he wants Trump to be the embodiment of these things. He really badly wants Trump to be his hero. But Trump isn't what he thinks Trump is.

This gentleman is so sick of Establishment Republicans and their lies, that he SOOO wants trump to be all these things...but he just isn't. He needs to open his eyes and see what trump is, and isn't, and decide how he really feels about Trump.

That's probably one of the biggest problems about Trump. We just don't know what he really thinks.

It was exactly the same problem in 2008 with a certain Barack Hussein Obama. We didn't know anything about him. It's like ordering the mystery dish at a cheezy diner. And what arrived was a piece of feces between two slices of white bread. And now we all know the taste of the crap sandwich that is Barack Hussein Obama's Presidency. Liberals like the taste.

Ok...as promised, I watched the video that explains why you support Trump. I posed my disagreements with the gentleman on the video.

I want to say: I support 100% his right to say everything he said. I disagree with most of it...but I think he has the right to say it, and I'm glad he got the chance. Because, as GWB said..."I love America".

And I want you to know, Mister Chester, that I disagree with this gentleman, but I want to say thanks for sharing what you think. It took some guts, and I respect that, i respect you, and I respect your right to have your views. We can agree to disagree.

    Best wishes.

Romney is a mealy mouth loser, I can't believe I voted for him last time; guess I was just sucked into the lesser of two evils game.

So you're going for the greatest of the evils? Well at least in the primaries.

Actually that doesn't show that he lied. Yep, Cruz worked on his lawsuit. It doesn't mean he worked with him, or even met him. He was a very junior associate at the firm that Boehner hired, as in worked for the company for maybe a year and was hired straight out of his clerkship. Do you really think the firm is going to have him as lead man on it?

Then Cruz undercut another Republican, fellow presidential candidate John Kasich, who had entered into an alliance with him to stop GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
“There is no alliance,” Cruz told reporters on Thursday, acting as if a pact announced by his own campaign days before had never happened.
Minutes later, Kasich strategist John Weaver dispatched a cryptic tweet: “I can’t stand liars.”

A couple years ago, Cruz was the hero outsider taking on Boehner, the establishment insider (I wonder why Boehner dislikes Cruz).

So now the outsider lovers are lining up with Boehner claiming Cruz is the insider.

    It's entertaining!

I don't see him as an insider or establishment candidate. I see him as a fake, self promoting pompous ass that has taken backroom deals, shady tricks, and ridiculous acts of desperation (Carly for VP LMFAO!!!) to hope to retain the most minimal possibility that he would be handed the nomination in a brokered convention. It comes across as pathetic. If he were on his knees begging the populace he'd only be a step or two lower then he currently is. I hope that's not next, because he's running out of ideas.

Carly for VP is a prime example of how much an idiot this guy is. For what gain? To impact a single news cycle after getting shut out in 5 straight primary states? Carly isn't going to help him in any of the remaining states. But what she takes away harms him far more... announcing her as his running mate removes the possibility of constructing a delegate approved union at the convention that might be more palatable to everyone. This was a mistake of epic proportions.
