I love reading all the spending you are doing and all the gloom and doom. Most of the pack rats on this sight are over 55-years-old which means in another 20 years, I'll be attending all kinds of estate sales and garage sales buying ammo, guns and all sorts of goodies for pennies on the dollar from your estates. Brand new still in the package. What a deal.

A friend of mine just purchased such a collection. This old joker croaked and had 1.8 MILLION rounds of rifle ammo and a gun collection that would out do most of the gun shops in the US. It seems he was absolutely sure he would need this ammo "someday". Instead, he's looking down seeing someone else buy his hoard for pennies on the dollar and making a bundle.

    Good riddance.

He still has that avatar, huh?

AdBlocker Plus has spared me from seeing it.
I use AdBlock Pro as a Chrome extension as it blocks all ads and doesn't have an "acceptable ad" list like Plus does. I didn't realize that they have the "Block Element" option. I'll be using that one to block other avatars, pictures, etc. that I don't want to see. Thanks for pointing that out!

I don't know how it is in other versions, but on mine you can block a specific image.

    "How do I block 17 squirrel's avatar?" :):

With Adblock Plus when you on a page with squirrel's avatar click "Open blockable items" or hit CTRL+SHIFT=V and look for his avatar Gif. I believe it's avatar33542_2.gif and block it. If it's not that one then just try blocking another avatar gif until you find it.

    opps, that should be CTRL+SHIFT+V

Well, there you go. Bundled up real nicely for inclusion in the FAQs.

Getting into reloading was not only stress relief at a time when I needed it desperately, but it will come in handy if another panic occurs. I have stockpiled enough components that I can supply myself with all the ammo I will need for many, many years.

This guy is so full of himself.......any of you guys been to any estate auctions lately? Stuff brings 10-100 times what them guys paid for it 30-40 years ago. I had a friend die who had a huge collection, his Tommy Gun alone sold for nearly $35,000......think he told me he gave less than $500 in the 60's for it. I think maybe the OP was mistaken when he said sell for pennies on the $1.......what he meant is you may make a $1 on the penny. Yeah, he also "hoarded" gold coins that he gave $30 for and they sold for $2000-4000 each!

I am sure Gary is looking down and laughing as his heirs go to the bank.

Yep, every sale I have been to, even new stuff seems to sell for more than you could buy it new at a dealer.
