Oh, and if someone's response to my wild idea that the male refugees of fighting age would better be served trying to clear their country of ISIS (and others) than fleeing is that "there is no good side to fight for", reflect on what the generations have allowed to happen to their country and whether it's a good idea to import that.

How many poison mushrooms do you eat out of a patch looking for a few good ones?

To all who want to give humanitarian aid, there are many mission and humanitarian organizations who could really use the funding, from YOUR checkbook. My Checkbook is already supporting the causes I have a heart for participation. It is a very healthy thing to provide aid, benefiting the giver in mental, emotional and Spiritual ways. I STRONGLY recommend it. It only works when the sacrifice is off your back, not forcing someone else to give sacrificially in hopes to satisfy your sensibilities. The latter plan only authors confusion, anger and instability to all parties.

While most of the refugees are probably good people in need, I still think this is a bad idea.

I do have compassion for them. They did not create their own problem; our government is partially responsible for the mess over there.

But now they have to fix their own country.

Underlying causes aside, there is a time where you do what you must to protect your own family. This is one of those times.

Just looks like posturing doesn't it?
"Unless and until the state of Indiana receives assurances that proper security measures are in place, this policy will remain in full force and effect.”
Are the feds going to say " oh we weren't scrutinizing too closely before but now that you've demanded assurances, governor, we'll do all we can" ?

So you are assuming "assurances" amount only to "yeah, we got this covered". There's no possible way it could ever involve an inspection of the process and specific vetting information for the people involved? No, of course not. Our goal of criticizing the Governor does not allow for such things.

I'm only surprised at Michigan. Bama refuses to take Catholics, vegetarians, and hippies, so no surprises there.

Having lived several years in Mississippi, I'm surprised they allowed Alabama to beat them to it. I was once told by the one of the locals that anyone born north of Jackson TN is a Yankee. I told him my parents were from South Carolina, which seemed to appease him.

Up in Michigan, the Dearborn residents don't want any Ahmed-come-latelys causing additional scrutiny.

Aren't the Dearborn Muslims the wrong flavor? I dunno. I never seem to remember which side is which. Sunni vs. Shiite.

Saudi Arabia is a huge part of the problem. Sometimes it feels like they have more than just oil. I'd love to see our support for that wahhabi exporting statist theocracy dry up.

I can agree with you on something. They are a huge part of the problem. And we need to make them a huge part of the solution. No more free **** for them.

    Boom!

Yeah, you're right. He should have just made that a permanent policy. Let the sanctuary cities have them.
