There is one thing in that article that is incorrect. He did have at least one means of defense, that being a 3-4000 lb vehicle.

5, yes 5, teenagers beat him to death with hammers. It could just as easily been 8 and a 5 shot revolver is inadequate (not enough ) to carry and protect yourself with. This type of group violence is becoming more common place and we should carry accordingly, if not, you're just fooling yourself and hoping for the best.

If by "stay in his car" you mean that tactically, the best idea, on the face of it...... I agree.

Unless he was banging himself in the head with a hammer, I don't see how anyone could think he was responsible for his own death.

It is most likely easier to die than to go through the troubles he would endure. Would it be easier to die or have your life ruined.

Gawd! What next? Being in your vehicle when you're harassed or attacked gives you several advantages the chief one being that if someone manages to break out a window in an attempt to get in or get you out or pulls your door open they've just agreed to be shot. There isn't a question about if/when you should think about shooting like you would have if you are walking down the street. The door comes open, it's time to pull the trigger. My wife knows to duck back, close her eyes and cover her ears if someone attacks from the passenger side. She might get a nasty bruise or burn from a hot .45 case hitting her in the face but that's just a little collateral damage. I see your hammer and raise you one Glock.

In all seriousness however, if it were a black man killed by white thugs, wouldn't it be termed a "hate crime?" Bosnian or not, couldn't it be possible that they killed him simply because he was white?

It seems like any crimes against an individual with white skin cannot be hate crimes, because white is apparently the absence of race?

Hate crimes against whites, are about 20% of the total. It just doesn't get a lot of press.
